tPacketCapture for Android
I used this app for several days and I was very happy with how it's convenient and appears to seamlessly capture traffic. Was really impressed. But after debugging a really elusive network problem, I painfully realized that my AJAX calls are timing out ONLY when capture is on. Turning capture off - AJAX successful, 200 HTTP. Capture back on - failure due to 30 second time out. The developer obviously put a lot of time and effort into this, and I would gladly pay for a tool that works, but a debugging tool that introduces new bugs is not only not helpful, but time wasting. Hope for a fix soon.
Works but no way to stop on Android nougat 7.0. To stop one must go to the apps menu in Android settings and push force stop, or VPN menu and stop it there. Also guaranteed to die if you try to delete any pcaps it has made.
Used it to capture HTTP packets to/from my IP enabled TV and it worked perfectly. The only feature that's missing is an integrated reader, otherwise I would give 5 stars. Will recommend to friends.
When enabled, the one thing I wanted to trace did not function, failing to connect.
Not compatible with Shadowsocks. If I start a capture with Shadowsocks enabled (NAT mode), I cannot access the Internet
HTC M9, can't stop capturing. Why is there no "stop" button within the app? There is no checkbox in the notification bar to stop.
At So Good Doesn't Work For Me. I don't know why but it didn't worked
No pcap viewer supplied. Unfortunately unable to refund.
Worked great on my old phone (S5). On my new phone when presented with "OK" and "Cancel", only "Cancel" works.
Only captures traffic for 192.168.0.* It does not capture traffic for WiFi connections that are assigned to other network like 192.168.1.*
Can not stop capturing
This is an app which capture the packet without promiscious mode and produce pcap file of the captured packets, so it's a good app to know what kind of packets coming and sent by our device. However I cant seem to make a voip call while monitoring my device traffic, but I can register to my voip server just fine. Perhaps the vpn cant pass through the packet for sessions? Regardless this is a nice app for a workaround to those who don't want to root their device
this is good app, It works fine on anroid 4.4 , but when i upgrade smartphone to android 5.0 , now it crash , i cannot open app. I have just install lastest app, but it donot fix error.
Ok i agree this packet capture does not collect everything, Theres alot of things i could be doing but they don't get captured
Quick, easy to use. I just set up a custom iptables rule in AFWall to redirect all DNS requests to OpenNIC - nslookup doesn't seem to work in the adb shell so the only way I could check this was working was to do a packet capture. This did the job perfectly, gave me a .pcap file so I could open it in Wireshark on my Linux box. Confirmed the rule was working as it should. Great app!

No way to stop capturing from the app even though it tells you to do it via a notification
No work..very sad...plz help...
Working, no issues, stop a capture is a bit difficult
I cant press the box to trust it
Helpful ... Thanks
Thats nice app
Doesn't seem to capture all packets. I'm trying to troubleshoot why the Bethesda Pipboy app won't connect to the PC. See, the app is sending a broadcast onto the network (which I can see with Wireshark). The PC then sends a unicast message back to the IP of my phone (which I also see with Wireshark). However, the app doesn't do anything. It doesn't switch to the next screen allowing me to select my PC. So, I've been trying to troubleshoot if the packets are even making it to the phone. Odd thing is, the phone, according to the capture from tPCAP, doesn't even show a sending packet, even though the PC received several. So, somethin' ain't working fellas. Maybe tPCAP doesn't capture broadcast packets?
Not seeing anything in notification bar, why can't you also stop from the app?
Unfortunately for me, it no longer seems to capture DNS packets, I dont recall DNS being a problem when I last used it about a year ago.
I'm trying to check this out, but I can't even get it to open. Ironically, "What's new" says Fixed crash on startup. I sent an email to support. 4.4.4 rom. Edit: weeks later, never heard from support, so I uninstalled.
Files don't get saved. I see some bytes collected but files neither show up in app nor on the sdcard.
Unbelievable...
On nexus 7 v2
Works well -- exactly what I was looking for! (OPO OxygenOS 1.0.3)
not working on LG G3 32 GB Android 5.0
Until the update that screwed up the interface and did away with being able to copy text to paste elsewhere
I can't stop capturing on my device, but it works fine!
Yeah, why notification ? Cannot see it, so cannot stop, and no capture file to read, why stopping is so painful ?
Nexus 5 with Android 5.1. Can't connect Internet after recording starts. No notification appears to stop recording. Even tried to stop app in Android settings, but Internet still blocked. Had to power phone down.
Force closes on startup.
Crashing on start :(
Works pretty well!
Crashed on nexus 6

I've been a User of Wireshark a little over a decade. This tPacketCapture does not work as advertised. There is no Viewer to read logs (*.pcap) supposively captured. In the mis-told point of being able to move the *.pcap file. it is never saved. I manually went through every folder in both phone memory folders an mini SD folder. it's not there, In re-entering the app the file is not longer seen in the app either. Now after review to you the reader, uninstalling the app.
