About Pitch Speed
An app for coaches and all baseball fans.
Pitch Speed calculates speed of a baseball based on a very simple formula. A button is pressed once when pitcher releases the ball. The button is pressed again when the ball hits the catcher's mitt. The program measures the time between the two events. Speed is calculated as distance divided by time, and displayed in miles per Hour. It takes a little practice, but after a few minutes fairly good results are obtained.

Does the softball setting of 43' take into consideration that the pitcher typically releases the ball 5' in front of the mound and the catcher is approximately 2' or so behind the plate when the catch is made???

....if you can access the menu. All I can see is stop/start button, so there is no way to change settings. This makes this app all but useless. (unless you happen to know what the default distance is set to) LG-G3

Does exactly what I need it to. Some of the reasons ppl are giving for the bad reviews makes me wonder how they're able to operate their phone. It has a setting menu where you can change the distance from major league distance and little league distance. You can also specify the distance. It's NOT an actual radar people. It calculates how fast you tap the screen with the distance you've entered and shows you the mph. Takes a few pitches to get used to but it's great and exactly what I was looking for.

Thx for unit, OOB. Like to see "save file" work. Tryd 2 save Top1st, with "my" name jimT1-19(=jim pitched top 1st, 19 pitches), when i checked dir, file I "made" DID NOT EXIST, and app seems to append to "filehistory.txt" only, ONLY IF I DONT DELETE HISTORY! The notes only work in filehistory.txt, m/b kill notes, favor of..files s/b my "length [pitch count] & name". 2 teams in 1 game cant be "broken" into 12 files. Main screen, count display, s/b "static or vanish" I need to c count constant plz! goldrush1

Somehow my 13 year old friend threw a pitch that was 121 miles hr!!!!!!!!this app doesn't work.

I've tried about six different pitch speed tools, this one is my favorite because... ...press/release trigger for timer start/stop ...big, high contrast display, useful for outdoor viewing in sunlight ...custom distances supported (IBC baseball is 50 ft.) ...no ad banners sucking up battery by keeping internet connection active And to a lesser extent, but nice to have... ...pitch count ...history file

this app doesn't work like how I intended for it to work because I went on a jog, I was trying to use it to tell me how many miles did I jogged, I got back I looked at it and it was giving me for a bunch ridiculous numbers about estimating how many miles I jogged, I know for a fact that I didn't jogged 85.5 miles

Bro, I can't get to the menu on my Samsung s7. It's now useless. A few months ago I could and I liked this but now I can't. I uninstalled and reinstalled and no luck.
