iHealth Gluco-Smart for Android
Broken, does not work. Communication error. Tried everything, new battery, new test strips, reinstalled app, restarted device to no avail. Useless!
I've been using this app for a 2 months and now its says error 212. it's not working anymore! I needed this app, so please fix it.
Been using for 16 months cant find any faults on my s7edge
The app is good, but it seems like as of recent it does not recognise the glucometer.
Works okay. The accuracy and precision are pretty poor but the strips are so cheap it's worth it.
I just bought this device, can't seem to register so what good is it, what I have to take it to a tech guy to set it up! Now I cannot return, stuck with it, good money down the drain, thanks a lot, wait till I see my doctor, she's going to get an earful!!
Could not even get it loaded. Kept getting errors telling me to scan a new test strip. Could even do one scan. Will have to return to amazon.
Registration fails every single time I try, so it maybe a great app. I couldn't tell you because I can't get registered for an account, so as far as I know this app is a useless waste of space.
Great app, can't fault it. One word of advice for new users, I found that I had to do part of the set up process a second time in order to get to the point of being able to take a reading.
2 different meters purchased, app uninstalled and reinstalled, no case on phone to obstruct plug in yet it won't connect to my galaxy8.
Solve the problem so fast
Update fast
Bug: on HTC One M8, can't get out of the warning window! App became useless with the latest update!!
Good app
Will not work, wont recognise that the unit is pluged in. When you try to hit the contact us and write out an email for help it wont send the email. Just to update thier customer service. They replace the unit with a new one and all seems to be working perfect
The APP does most of what it claim to do semi-flawlessly, however it still suffers connection problems with the BG5 meter, when it does finally connect, it transfers all of the readings to the APP, BUT, it still does not provide all the taken/entered readings to S-Health. I took multiple readings the 26th, 27th, 28th, readings for the 26 and 28th were transferred, nothing on the 27th. Since all my health readings are aggregated in S-Health, missing data skews the overall data analysis for reporting.
Not 100% sure what the purpose of scanning the test strips is, since it randomly decides you have 0 left and you have to rescan the lid. Then I have had the app crash on me right as it tries to analyze the sample, so I have to use another strip to get a reading into the app. Fix these issues and it'll be one fantastic product. Update: connections issues over bluetooth everyday and it adding the data to Samsung Health. Going to try a different tester at this point.
The thing that really peeves me off is that you can't really buy strips when they come on sale, they are too close to the expiry date and the program will not allow you to use the strips the day after the end date. 40$ down the drain. Switching to a dumb reader instead.
It needs Bluetooth permission to connect a non Bluetooth type. Error in reading. It showed 50 & lab results came like 140. Don't believe and take decision based on the values. Gave the unit for service Will update soon about it
Everything is good about this product. But I've a suggestion. If you can include a few tips for reducing diabetes, on diet for diabetics and more of that kind of stuff, then the app is much more interesting.
Consistently inaccurate reads. Company not responding to issues with device when trying to return.
After two months the iHealth Glucose System has worked flawlessly with my Samsung device.
Easy to use, never fails!
Not working
Too complicated
Good
One thing missing from iHealth Cloud and from the app is A1C calculation. Such a small feature to over look since A1C calculations from a 90 day average are pretty common elsewhere. A1C is important to all diabetics since it is an indication of long term glucose levels.
Disabling the Dolby Atmos voice control in setting and music auto play didn't work for the BG1 is there any way else and it doesn't work on the Samsung note 5 and the LG g4
Don't buy this one. I have more than 50 strips can not be used because the App. identified as Expired. This product is a waste of money.
It's very portable. I can carry it just in my pocket, and use it to measure glucose every where. Just one suggestion if the strips would be individual package.
It is working well for me.
I am happy to report the app synced with the iHealth wireless glucose monitor....then quickly realized how trapped the data becomes. I dont see how it integrates with S Health, no data seems to be shared, UNBELIEVABLY there is no way to log FASTING results, which almost every diabetic or prediabetic needs to do! While I did figure out how to export the data, the format doesnt seem to input into any other app out there... since I got this device to monitor fasting results, Im not sure what to do with it now
I'm so disappointed. I can't get this to work. I insert the meter and it doesn't register that the meters inserted 90% of the time. Then when it does register than meter it won't register the test strips. The test strips seem to be a very loose fit to the meter because they keep falling out I'm returning the whole damn thing. I have not gotten one blood weeding out of this and the three days that I've been playing with it trying to make it work.
There are a couple of things that bother me about the software but first I need to get this out of the way. This is a review of the software (the app for recording the information from the hardware) why do people review the glucometer (hardware) on this forum? First, I need to acknowledge the software developers. I need to admit I've only been using this application for about 24 hours. But I think that they're offering a great product pretty much comparable to other major glucometer manufacturers. The other Bluetooth apps/glucometers offer the same information just in a different pretty picture. Having said that, I think there is room for improvement. As another reviewer mentioned... the software does not seem to be created by diabetics. In other words, do the developers take input from actual diabetics? I would love additional tags... such as a basic one... "fasting glucose." This is one of the very basic measurements that diabetics assess first thing in the morning. Speaking of tags... before and after exercise. I have much more input but the review is limited. I'd be happy to offer more input if it is welcomed. I plan to use this glucometer/software for a long time. Peace
I had troubles with my meter and app. So I left a bad review. Within days support contacted me in the hopes of helping out. I haven't had the time to get back in touch with them yet but I can truly appreciate a company that stands behind their product and cares about the user. I am changing my rating to reflect their efforts. The meter is great and the syncing with my iPad is pretty sweet. I like the averages and stats functions. I did have troubles syncing with one of my iPads and one of my phones however I am confident that when I get in touch with support they will be able to help me. After all they have already reached out to sort out my difficulties.
You were being held at gunpoint by Big Brother. The unit won't work without the app. You must scan the contents of the test strips and then half of them don't work. Or the app won't connect with the Bluetooth. Either way I've spent over an hour trying to connect to test my sugar. I don't like the fact that it tracks your personal information in the cloud either. 3 months of this crap and two phones later i'm done.
When it works, it's great, but I spend around 5 minutes each time getting the app to recognise that the monitor is plugged in. Way too time consuming - is this a known issue?? (Samsung S7)
I was really looking forward to using this glucometer so when I found it completely incompatible with my Samsung Galaxy S7, I was pretty bummed. I messed around with this for several hours, trying different trouble shooting ideas, I tried uninstalling and re-installing the app along with a list of other things to long to list here. Nothing worked, I still get the little circle in the middle that tells me to connect the meter when it's already connected. Personally, I would not recommend buying one of these regardless of whether it's on the compatibility list, until more of the bugs are worked out. Once that happens I think this will be a fantastic product.
The device will not sync with the app since last update. It pairs fine but the software doesn't see it. Went into the app settings and dabbed my device. Seems to be synchronized now.

Four new bottles of test strips, every one scans with the message "0 test strip available." Now it's completely unusable. Contacted tech support, they told me to send them a picture of the QR codes and the error message (it says "Erd". Why the hell do you need a picture of that?). They responded that the QR codes scanned fine for them. I write Android apps for a living. Why is an app telling me how many test strips I have in an unopened bottle of test strips? I'm done. I just chucked the device and $100 worth of unusable test strips in the trash.
