Easily and accurately identify mineral samples with the Geology - Mineral ID application. This application allows you to input up to 12 unique characteristics in order to correctly identify a mineral sample. The top 5 results are shown to the user along with detailed pictures of each mineral. The application also features a property list database that can help the user determine a specific characteristic by describing it in detail along with picture references. You may also browse through the full mineral list for a description of each mineral’s properties along with pictures. This app is ideal not only for students, but professionals, lab work, and field work as well.

I emailed the developer about the inability to move the app to the SD card. The next day an update was up that gave the ability to go between SD and phone, freeing up the tiny space I still have left on my phone. Fantastic work.

This is a fantastic app. I downloaded it as a mineral guide for a geology midterm and it's a great reference for mineral ID/characteristics. One thing that I would like to see is a large expansion on supported mineral types because the current 50 are a bit lacking.

Interface is fairly straight forward. Though some of the background images make it impossible to read the text when selecting certain features for identification. Images for each mineral are great and the descriptions really help.

Thought the developers would have updated the database since 2013. Didn't mind paying a buck but kind of expected more from a non free app.
