About Text Alert & Reminders
An Automatic Text Alert App Is What Remind Me SMS Really Is In A Nut Shell.
1st of all I will tell you a little about why I built this app and what I use it for.
I own and operate a very successful and well known restaurant in Sydney Australia and one of the issues I was constantly facing was having to pay staff over 5 hours extra per week just to call our customers to confirm their bookings with only 50% of our customers answering these calls whilst the other 50% we would have to call them back more than once.
I wanted to have a texting system, as I knew that around 95% of text messages are opened within the 1st minute of receiving them. Naturally I wanted to move to a texting system for greater reliability and also to cut costs on wages.
I did some research into this and I found that the company offering automatic sms texting with reply was either online based or they needed to install some hardware at the restaurant, which for us was not practical.
The other problem with both options was the cost involved and at around 30c per text I thought this was overpriced or will be over price as an ongoing cost, especially when I had unlimited texting on my mobile phone. Why pay twice for something?
So I embarked with my son to build Remind Me SMS as he was studying app development at university.
I know from the visual we used you may think this is child’s play however don't be fooled by this app originally we were not going to upload this app to the market place but since we got it to work so well we thought why not help others save some money.
So How does it work? And How do We use it ?
Eg. Miss Smith makes a booking today leaving her mobile number and not her landline number 1st of all.
Then we add Miss Smith’s booking in the remind me sms calendar for the day and time that she has requested. We then setup the option we want to send Miss Smith a reminder the day before or a week before which will be done automatically by the app.
The app updates to waiting with Miss Smith’s name "waiting” meaning she has not yet confirmed or the text has not yet been sent. Once the text has been sent if Miss Smith replies “yes” the app will automatically update from the colour yellow to green which is confirming the reservation,
however in the event that Miss Smith replies “No”the automatic update will go from yellow to red which is cancelling the reservation. Similar to the traffic lights Yellow =wait/waiting green=go/booked red=stop/cancel.
You can also book for years in advance so it makes it great for me as I can record customers birthdays or wedding anniversaries with a special message or a restaurant promotion for their special occasion.
It has also come in very handy for personal use as well in the past I always use to miss my friends birthdays now they get a text or sometimes I set the reminder to send a text my own number then I have a message to call them.
Now this is working out like magic for us however some of the things you may not like about it.
Our font colour options are light purple for AM and light green for PM and our times are in military hours as we found the app worked better with this format however in order for the app to automatically update the reply has to say yes or no otherwise the app will not automatically update, but don't worry the outgoing text will insert the instructions on how they should reply.
We hope this app will be as helpful and cost cutting to your business as it is for us. We now only spend about 30 minutes a week with booking confirmations.
Wishing you all the very best enjoy RemindMeSMS and Save!!!!!

Love this app. Two things I would love to see. One is the ability to change the date format so that it reads: month/day/year. And secondly, when you make an appointment, you make it WITH someone, not FROM, change the word from to with.
