Notifications Reader gives your applications a voice. Augment the default application notification beeps, clicks, pops and chimes with customizable text-to-speech alerts. Use Notifications Reader to read text messages, say who a new email is from, or announce when a background task is complete.

Custom notification rules define the desired text-to-speech behavior for system and application notifications. Several default rules are pre-configured, and as new application notifications are discovered new rules are automatically created that can be modified to change the text-to-speech output.
By using notification matching patterns different speech output can be set depending on the content of the notification.

• modify audio settings - used to enable notification speech through a bluetooth headset
• read phone state - to disable notification text-to-speech during an active phone call
• bluetooth - to detect and manage audio output to bluetooth headsets
• read external storage - used to import notification rules

It's a very helpful tool, the Tasker shortcuts are great. There is a slight learning curve, and lots of notifications to turn off after opening the first time.

I have tried almost all similiar apps on market. And I can say this it is the best Notification Reader application on Play Store! Do not waste your time, just download it.

So, why does such a functional app not have more reviews? I suspect it's because the dev doesn't provide a trial version. I bought it on a leap of faith, and it really does work well. Hope others are likewise encouraged and will then publicly give this guy the kudos he has earned so he can move up the list and be discovered. Maybe then he'll add another feature or two. :-)

It takes some learning to get things set up, but it works great once configured.

Pretty functional and customizable. It lacks an important feature, though: the ability to only enable it when Bluetooth devices are connected. You actually have to turn it on and off manually.
