ReAdEaSy

ReAdEaSy è un’applicazione per dispositivi mobili pensata per essere d’aiuto a persone ipovedenti che mostrano difficoltà nel riuscire a leggere le informazioni riportate nei cartelli presenti nell’ambiente urbano che ci circonda.
Grazie al software sviluppato, l’utente, dopo aver scansionato il cartello ben visibile grazie al suo bordo di colore rosso, può apprendere il contenuto informativo attraverso la dettatura vocale dello smartphone. Oltre questo, il dispositivo è in grado di individuare numeri di telefono, indirizzi web e di posta elettronica e interagire con l’utente chiedendogli se desidera chiamare il numero trovato, aprire la pagina web
o inviare un messaggio all’indirizzo e-mail.

Il riconoscimento dei caratteri può essere effettuato attraverso due possibili OCR:
- TesseractOCR
- DQ OCR (ocr implementato appositamente per il progetto e in grado di riconoscere in maniera precisa caratteri con font "Comics Sans MS")

NOTA:
-L'applicazione è compatibile con tutti i dispositivi dotati di un processore a 32bit.
-Necessita dell'installazione dell'app "OpenCV Manager" per l'utilizzo delle librerie di OpenCV
-Dispositivi con fotocamere di bassa qualità potrebbero non essere in grado di riconoscere il cartello e i caratteri (l'app è stata testata su un Nexus 5) ReAdEaSy is a mobile application designed to help the visually impaired who show difficulty in being able to read the information on the signs present in the urban environment that surrounds us.
Thanks to the software developed, the user, after scanning the sign clearly visible thanks to its red border, can learn the information content through voice dictation smartphone. Besides this, the device is able to detect phone numbers, web addresses and e-mail and interact with the user asking him if he wants to call the number found, open the web page
or send a message to the e-mail.

Character recognition can be carried out via two different OCR:
- TesseractOCR
- DQ OCR (ocr implemented specifically for the project and be able to recognize accurately font characters "Comics Sans MS")

NOTE:
-The Application is compatible with all devices equipped with a 32bit processor.
-Need Installation of the app "OpenCV Manager" for the use of libraries OpenCV
-facilities Cameras with low quality may not be able to recognize the sign and the characters (the app has been tested on a Nexus 5)
