About Toscana '900
Over 100 museums and art places of the 20th century in Tuscany, all described and richly illustrated, with recommended theme tours and information on events and exhibitions.
The Toscana '900. Museums and Art Tours App was created as part of the 10th edition of the multi-year Big Little Museums project, sponsored and organized by the Fondazione Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and the Region of Tuscany, together with the Council of Banking Foundations of Tuscany.
The aim is to create a network for promoting the museums and temporary exhibitions connected with20th-century art in Tuscany, and the related areas of reference through the virtuous involvement of the historical-artistic heritage, but also of hotels and other accommodation facilities, restaurants, artisans, the agricultural, food and wine sectors and the performing arts.
The Big Little Museums project thus activatestours and itineraries that, based on a geographical survey, can be alsocategorized according to museums types or themes, types of works on display (graphics, decorative arts, etc.) or preferred historical periods.
The application, available for both Mac and Android, will be completely free for users, who will be able to consult it to get a complete overview of the Tuscan museums connected with the 20th century, grouped according to themes, geographical areasor preferred historical periods.It will provide information on the collections and works on exhibit, as well as practical information such as opening hours, educational activities, maps and routes.
The app also offers the user suggestions about the thematic tours and itineraries in the region, always in connection with 20th-century art in Tuscany.
The Toscana '900 app has a database with indexing of all data regarding museums, provinces and works that will allow the user to search by museum name, museum category, province, and the title of the work.
It is available in 4 language versions (Italian, English, Chinese and Russian).
