About Planetary Hours

For most magical traditions, ancient and modern, the vibrations of the planets affect different parts of the day and the night.

The two parts of each day - the bright one and the dark one - are broken down into twelve hours, each tied to a particular planet and influenced by it.

Planetary Hours is a free Android App to instantly calculate the associations between the Planets and the 24 portions of each day called Hours, referred to a certain date and location.

The calculation is based on the time of sunrise and sunset, and these are information related to geolocation. Set the location infos through the Compass icon on the action bar or through the menu item Set Location; tap the Geolocate button to retrieve the information through the sensors of your device or fill yourself the text boxes.

The reference day is always the current one in a planetary sense: if today is February 3rd 2 in the morning, the day February 2nd will be considered because the dawn of February 3rd is not yet born.

The current Planetary Hour is highlighted with a blue ribbon.

PRO version available!

NB: Latitude and Longitude are expected in decimal degrees; Altitude is expected in meters.

I guess all the bugs have been fixed. It has Geo-localized my coordinates correctly. Just add some 'back' or 'start' button or something like 'press the back button to begin' on the first user interface that commands the user to tab for geolization, etc. Because it made me hopeless not knowing where to navigate the app - ad thought of quitting. Those who struggle with that just press the back button on your device and it should get you started. Thanks

I'm uninstalling because the app gets lost in cyberspace trying to find my location. Yes, my GPS is turned on. My phone runs Android 2.2 fyi to others having same problem.

I was happy to find this app for my phone since I use a similar program on my laptop. This is a simple program that doesn't clutter itself up with unnecessary interpretations of the planets and lets the user do his or her own interpretations. If you don't know about planetary hours and want to learn more about the subject check out the works of Heinrick Cornelius Agrippa. Also look up "Elective Astrology". Buying full version now!

I purchased Sirius Lab's Hours app but it crashed in my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 running Honeycomb 3.1. No choice but to install it to my Sony Xperia X10i Eclair. Thankful that Planetary Hours works in my tablet. My only wish is for the app to respond to automatic rotation, as the SGT defaults to landscape view. I have to turn the tab to read the info.

Mine is consistently an hour later than it should be. It looks accurate minute by minute, but the hours are one hour too late.

C70%

Does not provide information on each planet. Wish it would, it's a nice clean app.

Doesn't work. Can't access data from network. Thanks for the effort. Have to uninstall for now. HTC EVO 4G

Great application. Thanks. Would it be possible to highlight the current planetary hour in the list?

Calculation is good, matches other similar calculators and sites. [Note, I originally complained about a bug that displayed the wrong date anytime the clock was past midnight. This has obviously been fixed. Thank You!]
