Daily Word

Seems to be a problem server-side. Both mine and my girlfriend's app has stopped working in the past week - 'there was a problem understanding the server response'. Great, simple app though if it works for you.

This app has a great ui but the words are really obscure and irrelevant. The words should be something a average person might actually use in a day. Needless to say, I will not be using the word 'Mulct' anytime soon. Mulct is 'a law or penalty; usually pecuniary', and is not recognized by my keyboard as a word.

Didn't work. Said there was a server problem. There's nothing wrong with my phone or internet connection.

It just says "There was a problem understanding the server response."

Was looking for a good app like this a while now, love it :)

Would be really useful to show the phonetic alphabet of the word in addition to the pronunciation

App wouldnt load any words! -_- server issues? Really?

Gorgeous material UI and simple idea. I know it's too much to ask, but would love to see this app turn into a full fledged dictionary app with the same feature. The design makes you wanna use the app more but the app offers nothing more than just a word a day (the name! duh! But still..). The use is reduced, unless there are a lot of pinned words . So please expand on this. Apart from that I love it.!

I was excited to download this app. It initially looked really good based on the preview pictures. On start up it says, "There was a problem understanding the server response". I refreshed it multiple times, uninstalled it and re-installed it again, and even messed with the settings, but nothing worked. According to other peoples' comments, this is a common problem. So if the creators of this app would actually decide to fix this problem, they would get better reviews and more importantly more downloads.

Fix this. I keep on retrying but the server is the problem! And it says there, 'there was a problem UNDESTANDING the server response. Even the spelling sucks. Wasted my time.

This doesn't retrieve anything from the server anymore. A real shame since it was a beautiful app

It doesn't connect to the server for about a week..

This app is amazing and use to be my favorite app on my phone but it doesn't work anymore. It worked perfectly at first then stopped completely, wouldn't even open. I un-installed then re-installed it, it comes up but then says "no Internet Connections to download today's word". I've tried everything. Please fix so I may rate this app what it deserves.

Won't connect to the server. This has been going on for over a month now. I would rate higher if fixed.

Problem with server

It gives colloquial words we would never use or already know the definition to. I can only see words they have already sent so Ive waited a week for a word I could use but still useless words. Marriam Webster's vocabulary builder first two pages is much more useful than this will ever be. I read a review that said this but I thought I'd try anyway. They were 100% right.

The words are not interesting, and almost insulting to be a word of the day app...if You are a true word lover...pass!

I was looking to expand my vocabulary by learning words slightly outside my regular conversational level. This app is beautiful, but hasn't given me a word I can use in day-to-day speech yet.
