Omnibus Writer is a revolutionary concept that combines the best of word processors, Wikipedia clones and text-only distraction free writing apps.

Omnibus Writer offers powerful document linking capabilities. Much like how hyperlinks work on the work wide web and Wikipedia, smartLinks within Omnibus Writer can take you directly to other documents referenced within text, a web page, or even a file on your cloud drive (Box.com is supported now, other cloud drives Dropbox/Google will be supported within 2 months). By linking all your ideas together, you will never lose another thought or insight, and upload them to the cloud to keep them safe.

Omnibus Writer edits one paragraph at a time and hides the paragraphs after the current editing paragraph to focus your attention. Mathematical equation rendering kicks in when you exit editing mode by either pressing android physical back button, Ctrl-S, or pressing the checkmark button.

Omnibus Writer works just as well on phones as they do on tablets. Are you a swype guru? then you can be just as productive writing with one hand and edit the same essay or research paper you had started on your tablet previously. You can write while you are taking the underground, or waiting for your appointment at the doctor's office. Omnibus Writer connects to the cloud (Box.com for now, more to come) so you can edit the same document where you had left off.

Omnibus Writer is perfect for Essay writers, and journalists/bloggers who are typing and refining their next article on the go. We offer awesome features such as Text To Speech: Omnibus Writer can read the current paragraph out loud to you (Ctrl-T), or you can have it read the entire document to you, when you are preparing for the final edit and upload. Omnibus Writer offers smart linking feature, so you can two-finger tap (or mouse double click) to any of your sources as you are editing. If you prefer PDF output, Omnibus Writer also offers Wifi sharing (just click on the wifi button in the bottom bar), where you can view the article in the browser of another device, and use a 3rd party print-PDF software. We shall implement our own PDF conversion feature in due time.

Omnibus writer offers most of what you might except from a word processor, Ctrl-B, Ctrl-I, Ctrl-U works as expected, Ctrl-F or clicking on the magnifying glass performs search. Ctrl-H gives you popup options to perform raw HTML input, Markdown render or yellow highlighting selected text. Ctrl-M renders markdown for the current line. Ctrl-R performs raw HTML input rendering. Ctrl-Y performs yellow highlighting. If you are using the software keyboard, try finding one that supports the Ctrl key and arrow keys. We support Ctrl-RightArrow for End, and Ctrl-LeftArrow for Home, for you typing power users. If you can't find such a keyboard, refer to http://omnibus-writer.appspot.com .

The menus in Omnibus Writer are mostly hidden to give you a distraction-free environment. The navigation menus can be found by swiping in from the left edge of the tablet. Most of the text to speech features can be found when you swipe in from the right edge of the tablet. To make a section heading, the markdown syntax (#, ##, or ###) offers you speed and convenience over traditional formatting menus. Simply Ctrl-M (from the end of the line) to render the heading into view.
