Boating US&Canada for Android
Not sure how to connect this app to my raymarine axiom 9 with light house 3. I bought this thinking it could be used as a stand alone then update my chart plotter later. I can't seam to connect them together. There may be a way but I can't figure it out. If I could have this app work in conjunction with my axiom 9 so I could plan my route at home. Get in the boat and put it on my axiom to save time. If there is a way and I can do it I will change my rating to 5 stars.
Had to buy this app twice, because I switched from apple to Samsung, what a rip off, very disappointed! I'm paying to access the same IP (Navionics Maps) and they charged me twice, be ashamed Navionics!! No other app I own charged me to switch platforms! In response to another reply, please don't insult my intelligence by trying to tell me that you re-chart lakes for different operating systems. You are charging me twice to access your maps because you guys have exploitative business practices. More sad responses, other apps I have seemed to manage to let me switch between IOS and Android seamlessly but my most expensive app can't figure it out? I'll give you the solution, allow peole to create a transfer code in app to activate a license they have already purchased, that would be fair. Stop ripping people off. Amazing how every other paid app I have managed to find a way to allow me to switch from iOS to android without re-purchasing, yet your company claims it is not possible. Do the right thing and refund me for having to pay for your maps twice!
This is an alright product for sport and pleasure craft users. It isn't geared for the commercial side of the marine world.
I like this app , however the font size is too small and i can't find where to increase font size for depths on map.
Navionics treatment of long standing customers with this recent push to a 1 year subscription policy and dismissing the original paid agreement is very unfortunate. Their stock response they are cutting and pasting into other similar reviews is also disappointing. Saying that app layers are changing and trying to justify the cash grab of forcing people to pay for a year sub leaves a bad a taste in my mouth. Will be actively searching for a replacement app and will not give another dimension to this company until later they address the treatment of loyal customers now getting the shaft.
I am extremely disspointed to find that with your recent update you've taken away the terrain overlays. I find it absolutely ridiculous that you would try to force paying customers to pay extra for something you provide for free on your Web app.
Loved the app when purchased a couple years back. Now it says i need renew my subscription the app still works...ehat does the renewal provide? .excellent app and have recommended it to many friends that also made the purchase. Another question is about the 65 dollar canadian and US version compared to ghe 10 dollar one...is there a diffrence in detail or what do you get for the more money? I do not plug my phone/tablet to my sonars is is this something i would be intrested in? Thank you
None of the lakes I'm looking for have the detailed information. Can't even find them through a search. Just downloaded last night. If I could get a refund still I would take it
loaded App on my S7 and I've linked it to my computer with sidesync from Samsung. App is good but I do not like that I lose the time, speed and distance when I rotate it for full screen experience.
Really good app but it would be better if it could support split screen cause of the new Android 7 multi window feature to run two apps at the same time
Really dumbfounded by how poor they are at providing information to customers about what products they should have and how it interfaces with Google Play. You have so many flavours of the app it is completely confusing and to boot all navionics products seem to have the same icon implying they are all the same. So I purchased the app and installed it on my new Samsung Tab Pro 8.4 only to find out many days later I "think" I probably have the wrong one. When you search Navionics Canada nothing comes up in Google Play. Your Web site has very little info on android options etc like HD vs handset vs version and app naming conventions regarding which forms of app should be used on what device - including new devices. So now I think I am stuck with a version not right for my tablet no thanks to your inability to differentiate products to those of us in Canada. Bad form! I think Navionics needs to work on the intuitiveness of their product and most of all why can't you back up your tracks and routes in case your device fails. I was a seafarer by trade and a basic function of navigation is to be able to log your exploits. THEY MISSED THE MARK HUGELY ON THIS LACK OF CAPABILITY IMHO
Review: Too bad it's nearly impossible to see my phone in full sun. This data is very helpful, and I recommend it.
I paid for this app that included map overlay ie; satellite. This new update has removed that option. What gall!!!
After last update it will not run or open, customer service has gone above and beyond trying to help me to get it to work
Great app
I'm getting so tired of ads in the navigation screen I think there should be a class action lawsuit against the maker of this app. Seriously, I paid for this app, keep your ads to the sub menus and off the navigation area.
App is good. Just wondering if I have to purchase this app if I was to put it on my tablet or if it will be downloadable as both devices on the same account.
Would be better if there was more lakes added. I bought this app for head lake in ontario, and moon river. Both are not charted :/
Draws very little data, always gets me pretty close to where I want to be.
One of the best fishing mapping apps. Sure it cost but to keep all that detail updated .get what you pay for.
Way better than my h20
Great app showing rivers and lakes.
finicky
Great backup
I purchased the app years ago, I updated the app and it deleted my maps and wants me to pay to renew. , it now says my Navionics+ trial is over. I didn't ask for a trial of Navionics +. Navionics response was not helpful as I simply want my maps back. Beware of updating, I'm not alone with this issue
its stopped working. I bought this a few years back for 10 bucks but after updating it doesnt register and wants me to subscribe for 799 per year. I can see depths but it give me no other options.
I like the app, use it all the time for ice fishing! But was really hoping it would work on Alaska lakes too! Only shows them, doesn't give depth or contour!
The app will just close and i can't see anything. Its a real bummer since i bought it for ice fishing and now it doesn't work. I read other reviews that other people are having the same problem. Also this app is not helpful on secluded lakes as it will not show depths on lakes that are fished often. I had found a few secluded jem lakes that i was hoping to use this app to find holes and drop offs and what not but it has no info on those lakes. Navionics have you figured out why the app keeps closing help!!!
Lake maps are not that accurate but they will get you close to the structure you're fishing. Also noticed there was some missing structure on several lakes that shows up on Lakemaster.
I recieved a Samsung tablet for Christmas to use on my boat for navigation, but when I download the already purchased app on my tablet it expires within a few days. I purchased this app a few years ago for my phone and it still works fine on my phone but my tablet is what I need on my boat
Sent a support ticket in on this, but never heard back, so I thought I would warn others. The product used to work perfectly, had all the areas I required covered. Now, this season I browse through the same areas on my phone AND the web app, and I'm seeing missing sections. You can see the contour lines suddenly stop in the middle of the water, and the area is marked "Shallow". Not sure why they broke this? I would suggest checking the web version first, as a possible example of the detail you will get in your area. UPDATE: I heard back from Navionics support. They say the depth data in question was removed almost two years ago, due to it being estimated, (well those "estimations" were pretty darn good then), and I now have to purchase Navionics+ to get what I had before. UPDATE: (1/1/14) Re-installed the app after quite some time. Navionics now includes the sonarcharts in the base package. I have all the detail back now. UPDATE: (1/4/16) Installed on new phone, lost the sonar charts again. I guess they want you to pay a yearly subscription now.
My subscription ran out they want me to buy it again
Fishing spots
Nice to see this app continuing to improve, keep up the good work!
I agree with chris
Love it..use it when I ice fish
I purchased this app on different phones and up until the last update it was working fine. I use it for ice fishing to walk to my spots and find new ones. I don't need all the fancy stuff used for boating as I walk up to my spots. Since the last update it won't load my previously downloaded maps and if I don't pay again to subscribe, all I get is a dot on a gray background. It seems you have to get Nav+ to get anything on it. I'm not using the free version here, I paid for the app on two platforms.
I use this for sea kayaking, it seems to use the battery up a fair bit, but is very handy used discriminately. I use it as an adjunct to paper nautical chart or topo map. UNFORTUNATELY I have been unable to apply the most recent update, I have had lots ofsupport from Navionics, but no satisfactory solution. It seems as if the problem is a combination of a large app & what is now considered a small download segment of memory. I am not having trouble with any other apps. Dec 2016. I now have a Nexus
Updated app will not let me login even though I recently renewed and am sailing south. The tech team contacted me quickly and the problem was resolved. I have two different model BLU phones and the app works differently on each and most frustrating is the route archive not syncing and that the archive is not available on my laptop is beyond frustrating. The NO night vision option is going to become a problem once I start moving off shore too.
