Boating UK&Holland HD for Android
I'm having issues updating my chart plotter from my phone (Android 7) as it connects but cannot find my data card on my plotter. Interestingly I can update my chartplotter from my (Android 4.?) tablet.
What has happened, I updated navionics the other day and now it's really glitchy and black screening and the menus are virtually unusable, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same, please fix this as it was great before the update.
A shame that I cannot load my list of waypoints / marks into this app.
Last update has made the app awful to use
Very good results in north east Scotland through the caledonian canal and north west coast
Generally very pleased with this. Has been fantastic on both Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy phone. Has made coastal trips off the Suffolk & Essex coast and Thames Estuary considerably easier. However, would be massively improved by the Nav Module and other in-app purchases available in iOS version.
Good to see this App now available for the Nexus 10... However, there are issues and tidal currents are noticeably duff! On previous versions just putting the cross over the 'C' diamond would display the current... Now with this version it does sometimes but more often it does not... A few fixes needed Navionics... We await the update fix...soon.
Brilliant piece of kit and works fine on my Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 please give me the same as the ipad version though!! We have had this for 5 years now and use it for all our electronic navigation. It is fantastic and only gets better as far as we are concerned. Thanks Navionics.
Every time i try to load the screen just goes black, waste of money !!!!
As a new sailor loved it.
Fantastic tool
I've had to download app again to new phone and I've been charged again and not refunded .. Not good !
I have found this app good and useful but... The latest incarnation is definitely a step back. There's too much screen clutter without, apparently, the option of removing any of it. The sub-windows (speed and so on) really ought to be hide-able. UPDATE I have now learned that these windows are only present in route mode. Better, but it would be better still to have the option to hide them while navigating. There are times when all you want to see is the chart and your vessel's position on it.
Last update has made the app awful to use
App is spot on on my Lenovo Yoga pad Never missed a beat on three month tour
Very happy with product on tablets and phone. Now using far fewer calories, without climbing up and down ladders to check plotter. Helpful with my navigation averse crew.
Very good results in north east Scotland through the caledonian canal and north west coast
No problems at all, great app
On Samsung Galaxy 10.5. Brilliant cartography, only deficiency is rocky inshore areas esp. W.Scotland, otherwise would have given 5*. Shame it's not compatible with Antares !
This has been a good app that could be great if AIS traffic could be displayed, as you can on Memory-Map for example. I'm also waiting to find out how much the annual subscription is going to be now the Sonic facility has been added?
Much easier to update than my Raymarine, very pleased with this
Installed and running without any issues on an ASUS TF300. Clunky interface for routes and waypoints which needs some work which would at least gain a star. The map overlay is actually quite useable for non marine navigation. Now improved
Issue was sorted with the next update
Doesn't seem compatible it launches the front screen then crashes
Well that was REALLY disappointing! I just updated to the latest version and it still does not work on lollipop.
Rubbish keeps shutting down on same frozen screenshot.Despite numerous emails to Navionics app still does not work.
Excellent navigational assistance
Limited but still sufficient options for serious use at sea. I tried to get display 'track up' but it appears to only be ' north up' unless I have not found the right button yet!
Wouldn't be without it ..
Today's update does not initialize on my TF101 with Android 4.0.3 (latest available from Asus) despite reinstalling.
Was good, now unusable. Original version worked just fine on my HUDL. New Navionics+ is a mess. Iffy to install, touch screen info doesn't work hence unable to see tidal info? Navionics have broken the golden rule "If it works don't try to fix it!". I wish I could go back to the older version. So far £45 down the tube! Michael0404. Review update: 1/8/14 - Navionics support took the problem on board and fixed it in 5 days. Response was exceptional and product is now superb. Now 5*
Has never let me down but there are a few little inaccuracies, so must excercise care!
Good app but Apple version is proper chart plotter, thus disrespectful of Android users. Shame
Paid money and downloaded App. Immediately after opening the App I get 'invalid license' message without any instructions of what to do next apart from making sure to be online - which I am. Not sure it is rubbish, incompetence or theft.
A fantastic app but for the fact that the route function doesn't work on my nexus 7 - it allows me to make the route but then doesn't default to "go". Somewhat defeats the object of having it installed. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug with latest generation nexus7? As it happens I have just chartered a yacht on the west coast of Scotland which had this installed on an iPad which worked properly, and means I now know what it is capable of! I have contacted navionics for a refund - awaiting reply!
its good but, lacking in the ability to move waypoints mid track, seems like a very basic omission. and, importantly, where if the function to overlay ais? ive got a wifi ais transponder that talks to my chartplotter outside but not navionics on my android tablet on my chart table. please fix this.
It's probably the best app of its kind on android but its seems less polished than the ipad version, when I initially used it I thought it was missing functionality but it was just layed out differently, in my opinion the ipad version is a better user interface
Great software and works well in the cockpit using my Nexus 7. The UK HD charts cover the north coast of France and south to Ile de Glenans. Note that Navionics may upgrade this sw at any time which may disable the existing version until you pay for the new one. I suggest you ensure "automatic update" is disabled on your tablet and take the new version at your time of choosing. If you have an Android tablet ensure you install the HD version.
Would be fantastic with some. basic modifications. Route planning Easier route modifications Scalable marks.
