Really nice app but very disapointed that I cannot get it to synch with my Raymarine C97.. It wants me to activate my sd cards and when following the in app procedures it doesent work. It just keeps telling me to connect to the internet an :-( d then the plotter over and over..

This particular application is good and as a professional skipper I use it a lot. I also have it on my tablet and plotter. I would like to be able to run charts from my sd card and also to delete charts if I don't need them. An ability to say don't pester me any more about plotter charts or upgrading, instead of just maybe or later would be handy too.

Great app, would get full score if it could be moved to external storage on my phone.

This App is often unable to open saved routes. No error message, no nothing. Extremely annoying to loose a route after having spent a lot of effort creating it.

Brilliant. The ability to remove downloaded maps would be very useful.

Just had a week sailing off Gibraltar and logged everything with this app. Came home and all the tracks have disappeared. Better management of data with no internet connection (& therefore no opportunity to sync) would help greatly.

The product description says you can still use your downloaded charts after the expiration date. Mine doesn't now show my charts and simply says subscription expired. They demand another £24. No thanks!

-I have five paid areas of this app. 2 of them will not open. There is no obvious refund option. Still looking. -The app originally gave us all the charts from the beginning and now you have to download them when you need them in tiny chunks. It is an unfortunate change of policy. -This app requires it can activate your video camera at anytime. -Electronic charts are now free from many governments, why is there no competition for Navionics? These apps are spendy and we are happy to pay when we don't feel like we are being taken advantage of. -Navionics has responded to this review. They have inferred that their unlimited access to our cameras is optional. That is not true (unless you are rooted). I will update this if/when Navionics returns the value to their apps.

I downloaded the HD version of this app at extra cost. I then had to subscribe to navionics + annual subscription so I could download maps to use off line, that was another £25 for a year. Now every time I try to download a map it offers me the navionics + subscription which I have already paid for. In other words I'm out of pocket and still have no way of viewing a chart at sea. Technology is letting us all down, I wish I'd have spent the money on paper charts. At least they always work!

This is what u need cruising the med

1. When not connected to the Internet, the question mark next to the crosshair gives no data about the icons, only depth and contour. I do not have Internet connection when I'm sailing so there is no information for any of the icons on the downloaded maps, including critical ones. How hard is it to add these text bits to the downloaded maps so they can be viewed offline? 2. When I first used the track feature today and wanted to view my track, the app crashes constantly. In the past hours it is useless. No apps are running in the background, I'm using the latest android version and the latest nanvionics version and my device, Sony Xperia 4, is powerful enough to run the app yet it crashes even after rebooting the app / device as advised on the help files. 3. The maps are not zooming in or out fast enough and they are somewhat unresponsive. 4. Nanvionics support is just as unresponsive to support request. Over 24 hours and no reply but the generic automatic one. I would expect from such an expensive app to do better. But it seems this is not the case. Very disappointed with nanvionics. Hopefully I could get a full refund but as it looks now it's unlikely to be so

The height of many overhead cables were missing. This is very critical for sailboat navigation and planning. Fixed in latest version.

We live aboard 6 months per year. Reliable Internet connections are few and far between. Therefore I have most of our cruising area downloaded to the tablet. Yet I can not move these to the SD card. Why? As it is most of the disk space on my tablet is taken up by Navionics making it barely usable for anything else. Such a shame.

For three years I have used this app to navigate all thru the med. Perfect.

Great App, been using it for a couple of seasons now, but since I upgraded from Hudl 1 to Hudl 2 I have lost the tracking feature and the accuracy of the gps is awful, flashes around all the time! Not sure if this is the tablet or the app? Love most of the features though!

Works OK, but if I pay over 60€ for an app, I'd expect to have exactly zero annoying pop-up banner ads. I don't want to learn about your new features, and since I paid for the damn app I should have an option to disable ads.

Charts are good. But since Navionics pushes adds my rating is lower

You cannot disable popups bouncing to your screen frequently promoting new features and this makes me very dissapointed.

Why isn't it possible to hide those pesky symbols for photos? They do not belong in a navigation chart at all since they may mask real symbols and are generally distractive. In addition, they've got the same colour as stb lateral marks! Night mode is missing. The colour scheme is very bad after sundown. Sure I have a real navigational computer with cm93 maps, but what's the purpose of this app if it doesn't have the minimum requirements for use as an electronic chart?

It looks like Android is left behind on purpose - I had to wait 6 months for a version for Nexus 7 and now we start over with Nexus 9 (unsupported - how long this time before I can use it on my tablet?). On the other hand IOS version is very stable and fast (and nicer).

The app does what it should, and really works like a charm. There are some features missing however, like a lookup function for chart data such as buoys. This is not possible now and is in some cases very handy. If this would be updated its a 5 stars for me.

Great product, great value

The maps are OK. For the price, the area covered is quite large. Navigation features (route, track) are minimalist. Too slow (opening, panning) on single core 1 GHz tablet, much slower than the phone version of the same application (no speed problems on single core 850 MHz phone). This is paid application: users expect installation efficiency. When updating, ensure that you have more than 100 MB of free memory. Application (without maps) takes near 60 MB of internal memory storage. No way to move app to SDCard. Maps go to tablet internal SDCard: no way to move maps to external SDCard. Updating from previous Marine Europe to Boating Europe is very painful and near impossible. Takes hours and several crashes before analyzing your maps. Then hours to update a small portion of the maps before crashing, freezing the tablet, and having to reinstall. Was 4 stars, now I reduce to 1. A minor annoyance, for an application dedicated to tablets, is that it opens in portrait orientation with the tablet up: the startup screen should open in whichever orientation the tablet is. Chart display doesn't suffer from this feature, only the startup screen.

Running on a Nexus 5

You can create routes, but not follow them and doesn't calculate ETA. You can't move a point in the middle of a route. Shows velocity over ground, but not COG. Objects are difficult to click since you have to hit the symbol on the exact right spot. Can only download 50 MB of the map at a time. Contact me and I'd be happy to work with your developers to make a great and user friendly application!
