About The Open Source Days
The official application for the Open Source Days conference (Dni Wolnego Oprogramowania / DWO).
The Open Source Days conference is one of the biggest open source events in Europe. The 7th edition of the conference will take place from 28th to 30th March 2014, in Bielsko-Biała, at Akademia Techniczno-Humanistyczna. It will be yet another opportunity to gather students, IT professionals and all those who find freedom and open source to be important.
The conference will cover 26 presentations, 10 workshops and an open source contest. The participants will - among many other things - find out about:
- how to teach kids programming with Lego Mindstorms,
- how to put your neighbourhood or other area on a freely available digital map of the world and thus become part of a global open source project,
- Virtual Reality technologies (Oculus Rift) and their applications for training humanitarian aid workers and volunteers to better and safer deliver service on their missions,
- bitcoin – an open source project with multibillion capitalization,
- designing and programming computer games with Unity 3D,
- the Scrum methodology and how it can facilitate teamwork,
- how to design supreme user experience.
