The saxophone (also referred to informally as the sax) is a conical-bore, transposing musical instrument that is a member of the woodwind family. Saxophones are usually made of brass and played with a single-reed mouthpiece similar to that of the clarinet. The saxophone was invented by the Belgian instrument maker Adolphe Sax in 1846. He wanted to create an instrument that would be the most powerful and vocal of the woodwinds, and the most adaptive of the brass—that would fill the vacant middle ground between the two sections. He patented the saxophone on June 24, 1846 in two groups of seven instruments each. Each series consisted of instruments of various sizes in alternating transposition. The series pitched in B? and E?, designed for military bands, has proved extremely popular and most saxophones encountered today are from this series. Instruments from the so-called "orchestral" series pitched in C and F never gained a foothold, and the B? and E? instruments have now replaced the C and F instruments in classical music.
While proving very popular in military band music, the saxophone is most commonly associated with jazz and classical music. There is substantial repertoire of concert music in the classical idiom for the members of the saxophone family. Saxophone players are called saxophonists.

I play saxophone and I am disgusted. This saxophone doesn't even make sense. When you go down the scale the notes should go down, not up. There aren't magical keys that float outside of the saxophone to make higher notes. What kind of music teacher are you? Do not download unless you like wasting valuable storage on an abomination such as this.

Now I see why it only has 2.9 stars. One, is this alto or tenor? It looks like an alto sax, but alto is a little deeper. This sounds like a computer automated sound, and should have realistic noise. The graphics are okay... But c'mon, it's like a 10 year old did it. You can do better than this! *tip: if you ever remake the app, I recommend getting a saxophone player to play the scale.

I'm a young band student who has played alto saxophone for almost seven years, and tenor sax for almost four years, and a soprano for more than a year. Though, proving by your description, you may know how a lot on the history of saxophone, the app is not very functionable. The saxophone is pitched way too high, and I can easily say that the buttons are not put anywhere similar to the saxophone. The buttons do not push down together in order to play actual notes. This app is very poor in quality.
