Some hints to test the app:
* To import a openvpn configuration file, copy the ovpn file on the device memory and put in the same folder any external certificates/keys files. Then start the app, tap on "+" button in bottom right corner and choose "Import VPN profile". After the import, the files can be deleted.
* If something goes wrong, check the log. You can see the log by tapping on the vpn name, and so on the LOG tab.
* If the log has errors like "ERROR: Cannot open TUN/TAP" or "Tun device open exception: java.lang.NullPointerException", please try to reboot the device.
* If you have the access on the server side, check the log also on this side.
* Maybe your configuration is not compatible with the last version of openvpn, so try to set the option "Use old stable OpenVPN 2.3.2" in the "Options" section.
* If you cannot resolve the troubles, please send me a e-mail to android@colucci-web.it, I will contact you at soon as possible and I will help you to solve the problem or I will refund your money

The new app filter feature can be used only on Android versions greater or equal than 5.0 (Lollipop). This feature allow to choose which apps are allowed to use the vpn. The apps not allowed will use networking as if the VPN wasn't running.

Absolutely love this app. Bought it a few years ago and it's worth every penny. Love how active the developer is in releasing new features regularly and keeping the app bug free, stable and amazing.

Connects to my netgear TAP OpenVPN network. A life saver

I've been using this for years, originally for connecting to my Netgear R7000 and then R8000, and still use it today with dedicated servers running OpenVPN tapped into my home lan and work lans. It's always worked fantastically. Sure, the UI could be improved and some of the settings could be clarified, but that's just cosmetic. I definitely recommend this. If it's expensive that's because this isn't some silly game that's only a dollar now but that has in-app purchases down the line that'll milk you dry, it's a good VPN app that takes work to build and update frequently.

This app would not log out and showed me lived in when I was not, that blocked my use of my vpn. And paying for this app is a waste of money.

Following the upgrade to Nougat 7 had minor issues with the auto connect feature. Contacted the developer who quickly resolved the issue in the next release, would recommend to all 5*

Great app. Love the addition of autoconnect and connect on demand!!! only missing a donate button!

This app is amazing and is just what I needed.

TAP support ain't native TAP, but emulated over TUN. This offers no advantage over just using TUN mode. Consider adding real TAP support for rooted devices.

U70%

If you use a VPN, especially with multiple endpoints, you'd be a fool not to use this. Only thing it lacks is an additional donate button.

So this is definitely the best VPN app you can get. I requested a feature, it was put in about two weeks later. This developer/team is great. Worth every single penny I paid. Best of all, the app didn't pester me for anything, it just did what it was supposed to do. Excellent work, I look forward to buying more apps from this developer. My only suggestion is that there could be a dark theme.

Ok, I have been continually frustrated by the lack of product firmware development and "legacy" support from Netgear and their router and cablemodem products. I say legacy as they are not the top of the line but are still sold. I have a R6400, and CM600 for internet access. Netgear has been promising for years to bring VPN access to mobile platforms for the R6400 via firmware. They failed and now only offer that on top of the line new products (read very expensive routers). This Software by colucci-web SOLVES the problem with one easy click! In case you are interested, you use the non-windows VPN profile from the router, and import it into this OpenVPN Client. Well worth the $8! I'd have paid another $8 to Netgear (considering the router was already $180 when I bought it, so $188?!?) for them to solve it. Thank you Colucci!!!!

Works great with my device (LG G FLEX 2), i only noticed that after a successful connection when i perform "clear all" background applications vpn connection remains up as it should be but wheen i open the application again to disconnect from vpn the app disconnect the vpn but shows that is trying do reconnect again and remain to that condition for ever... I have disabled the auto logon and on demand logon. Also please consider to make the widgets more configurable more attractive!

Why isn't port 5060 and 5061 going though vpn. Port 5000 to 6000 using mobile network

Just great app with everything working. Best spend money ever. I had a problem with one of my TAP connection reseting, but found out I was connected also from my computer and connection was reseting, because VPN server didn't allow multiple connections for one user name. So everything works great now.

Took me a bit, but I figured out how to set this up with my Asus 1900p router so I can VPN to my home network.

A70%

Now works well with my TAP-udp bridge server in my pfSense router. Tested on rooted HOMTOM HT7 phone running Android 5.1 NB: pfSense client export package creates a faulty '.ovpn' file for Android use, as it lacks the crucial dev-type definition. For a TAP-type server this must be set manually either in the client app options after importing the '.ovpn' file, or by editing that file before importing it into the app.

Stopped working. I discovered an option to "Use old stable OpenVPN 2.3.2" This fixed the problem but I don't know why. Log showed bad option to tls-remote on line 8 of an apparently temporary configuration file. I would like to help get this corrected. Ir's an excellent app.

Best openvpn app !!

H70%

Simply worked as advertised. Only app I ever used that didn't require root for OpenVPN TAP protocol. Works well in all conditions except cellular networks which the app is not at fault for most carriers block many forms on VPN protocol. If using over cellular carrier try L2TP/IPsec to bypass blocking scheme. HTTPS tunneling is the best for cellular networks.

Works with Netgear for TAP VPN. Seems like the upload is slow though. Trying to figure out if the app is causing it since my fiber connection is 100 up/down. May be T-mobile is the cause? 4 stars until I figure it out. Edit: Its my carrier that controls the speed. 5 stars!

TAP doesn't work anymore. Connected but not working. Error in log: DHCP started, DHCP timed out. Edit: The developer helped me very quickly and it works very well. But it was a server side misconfiguration. The best OpenVPN client! Thank you!

Great app. Allows tap on Android.

U70%

I bought this for two reasons. One is that it supports TAP, and the other is that it doesn't require a lock screen to work. It pretty much always just works. It has lots of options, auto connects, and works with Tasker. I'm extremely pleased with it.

Bought it because the tap device support. I am 98% satisfied. What I am missing is the option to create a shortcut for a specific vpn config, to add in my launcher. Still five stars though.

Version 2.15.08 on Galaxy S4, Android 5.01 + root. EXCELLENT app! The first one I paid for. It is worth every cent spent! I use OpenVPN access to my home LAN from the wild, to watch home surveillance cameras on the phone. Just copied certs & windows .ovpn config file to my phone. After profile import, it connected to my home LAN without a single change! This is amazing, unbeliveable! Would give it 10 stars if existed! Congratulate to the author.

A very great application. Both work without root permission on Android 6.0.1, TAP and TUN.

Great OpenVPN client implementation - the only choice if you want to use TAP with root-less Android devices (i.e. Blackberry Priv). Highly recommended!

Using with my NetGear router. NetGear couldn't help me and found this app with TAP support. No foget to edit the connection and add the custom option "route-gateway" and the value set to the routers gateway ip (i.e 192.168.1.1) well worth the few bucks!

Nice. Dev was fixing problem within hours. Great client.

U70%

Honestly, it's hands down the best OpenVPN client app for Android. This is the only app that allows for multiple scrambling methods, AND Obfsproxy v2 and v3. For a guy like me where the school blocks OpenVPN packets with DPI, this app was definetely worth the $10 (however a timed trial for Obfs in the free version would be nice, to see if it works). The app also supports Socks proxies, and the "official" OpenVPN app doesn't even support it. All of this and more, without root! Sure the app is $10, but 4.7 stars? Loads of features? And it works? If you need to get around firewalls blocking your VPN, this is the one you need.

U70%
by U####:

Something with the TAP implementation is missing. For some reason, multicast packets are not delivered to the android device ! which renders services that require network discovery (e.g. bonjour, google cast) useless. However, if you managed to get TAP running through kernel implementation (root), all services work fine !
