About Galaxy Sensors

** Developed for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3, full compatibility is not guaranteed on other models **
** models like Galaxy S3-S5 or Galaxy Note2-Note4 are missing temperature and humidity sensor, not my fault, sorry, the device manufacturer has decided to remove these sensors **
** if a sensor is set as "NOT PRESENT" is because your phone doesn't have it **
functions:
  - Ambient temperature in degrees celsius
  - Percentage of moisture in the air
  - Light intensity
  - Air pressure
  - Height above sea level
- widget with ambient temperature! more coming soon
** The data is read directly from the sensors could then have an error of up to 5-10% (in the worst case) that does not depend on me, but by the sensors, unfortunately I can not do anything about it, to try to reduce the errors Please keep the device on a flat surface for a few seconds, so that the values are optimized, if your hands touch the device, the temperature will be too high of some degree **
If you want to report the full compatibility of your device with the application please leave feedback or send me an email, so it will be added to the list, any feedback and comments are very much appreciated, the application aims to be simple and instant, to have at hand all the data from the main sensors of the phone, if there are suggestions, recommendations and requests for additions will be happy to provide (where possible)

What are users saying about Galaxy Sensors

Very easy to use and pretty a curate. One main problem I noticed is that the temperature readings are your internal readings( battery temp sensor, cpu temp sensor etc) so unless your phone has been sitting in a certain room without being used the readings you get are false, at least for the ambient temperature. Other thing is that every time I get to certain go locations, the altitude readings are always different by about at least 20 m. One time it was 80 then 60 then 20 then 40 then 30 then 50 etc...

F70%
by F####:

I tried many other sensor apps and ALL of them could NOT show the Temperature & Humidity. I actually started to believe my S4 did not have those sensors as so many report on-line. I nearly gave up & was ready to trade for another phone when I found this app. It works. It shows the temp & humidity. My phone DOES have those sensors & I am a happy camper! I don't know how you did it, but thank you Alessandro :) BTW, I have the S4 Active...

M70%
by M####:

Users concerned that altitude readings are not repeatable need to consider that this is calculated based on atmospheric pressure. The influence of weather needs to be accounted for. This is a limitation of the method as opposed to the application. If you wish greater repeatability you'll need to measure via GNSS ellipsoid height and translate to geodetic height using your region's gravimetric model.

M70%
by M####:

Works perfectly! But only reports the actual readings from your phone's sensors. And unfortunately, your phone is a highly subjective source. It will be warmer in your hand than air that is one foot away. Humidity and pressure readings in your phone don't necessarily match what the weather service reports. And the altimeter is off sometimes by as much as 80 ft... because the phone estimates altitude via air pressure. So this software is useful, but don't rely on it for objective accuracy.

I'm not too sure if I trust this app's readings as it gives me mixed data. My home temperature is set to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The app read 71.5 at first which I would consider very accurate. 15 minutes later it read 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Not sure if it's because my phone is hot or what. But I really want to use it for the humidity detection and that also seemed to jump from 40 to 50. I'll check again soon and see what happens.

J70%
by J####:

Brilliant and useful. Most other temp apps would just return country temp instead of using the sensors (using inaccurate data). It is nice to have this app as all the relevant readings humidity, pressure, room temp and even lux and height are reported. The customisation options seem sufficient for viewing and switching between different units (SI to Imperial) so i can translate to our American friends.

by M####:

Does exactly what it says. Not a lot you can do with it but there's not exactly much you can do with sensor readings. Would be more entertaining if there were more functionality but functions that do what? I have no idea. Like I said, not a lot you can do with sensor readout but if you could think of somtbinglikebe able to compare or just see what the readings are any were in the world. Just a little something so the user feels like they have something to do. All in all, good app though. Thank you.

by M####:

Simple but effective. On my Galaxy S6 all sensor readings seem more or less accurate based on comparison with online data or local devices. Altitude seems to randomly flicker about, though. Not sure how that is even supposed to work - is it derived from other factors somehow?

V70%
by V####:

I had no idea my S6 had so many sensors. This app allows you to see the readings all in one place. You don't have to go to this screen or that screen its all in real time rite in front of you. The cherry on top is there are no added permisions no need to give all your friends over to use an app. Even the adds are at the bottom of the page. Great app thanks man!!

L70%
by L####:

Tempr, Humidity, Light - Lux, Pressure, Altitude all in one clear readout Metric or Imperial, choice of languages, this is it. But if phone manufacturer skimped sensor (hardware) or it has a 2-5 % error (normal), he can't do anything about it. Instead of updating rapidly some ten times a second or so, pl improve sampling, filtering, efficiency for a display update per second or so. For Batt, GPS, WiFi, Magnetic sensor, Gyro, accelerometer also w Graph, see Sensor Multitool, but no simple overview screen.

S70%
by S####:

Love this app, more accurate than my wall mounted tstat since i can take it to all the cold-hot-breezy-sunny sides of the house. Proves placement of space heaters in winter is critical to my couch potato spouse!

M70%
by M####:

I am rating this app 4 stars based solely on the simplicity of the data display. I cannot attest to the accuracy of the data since I just installed the app on a whim, but the values seem reasonable. I intend to verify the accuracy of the data with calibrated instruments to determine the margin of error and repeatability but I agree with the app's developer that the data is only as accurate as the S6's built in sensors. Reasonably accurate temperature and humidity data would serve my purpose.

M70%
by M####:

The fact that it uses the sensors is excellent. Just the widget that needs some work. It would be awesome if you could have a 4×1 or 4×2 bar that shows all stats in a neat widget. Seems the current one doesnt give you a live reading which is disappointing.

T70%
by T####:

I like the app very much but there's one small thing that annoys me. When I first used it the altimeter was 100 %correct at 29.4 meters but ever since for some strange reason it's reading 12.4. Why this is happening I have no idea but we are in an area where a tsunami would or could be a disaster and this measurement is of particular importance. I wonder if it is not a fault with the app in which case it needs to be fixed urgently. It can't be relied on and this is not good.

Folks out there: with no expectations I got this app, merely by curiosity, just wondering about. But know I thankful for it. The results are accurate and helpful. The app is on a Galaxy Note 7; yes, the same one that is blamed to catch fire. Mine works great and it's the best I owned.

I just downloaded app the other day and it works like a charm. Tested humidity and temperature inside and out -- adjusted quickly and easily with different conditions. I'll give 5 stars when it explains other measurements like pressure. Very useful to know humidity for health reasons. Thx!

M70%
by M####:

Very well presented. Interface not too busy, unfortunately the readings seem off. A full 8 degrees out on temperature checked against bureau of meteorology site only 5km away and didn't change when i held the phone in front of a fan heater, altitude about 80m off and goes down when i raise the phone up. Needs a calibration tool perhaps. Fix these issues and it's 5 stars for sure

M70%
by M####:

Note 5, everything works as stated. Only thing as noted previously is it seems to show internal phone temperature. But, as programmer who made this said, limitations are from hardware by manufacturer, not the program. You can only work with what's provided. Well made in my opinion.

O70%
by O####:

I left it in my attic, checking periodically. The temperature varied by 5 degrees Celsius and the altitude varied from 0.7m to 124m. So no use at all. Of course no app can be better than the sensors and I don't know where the fault lies. Also need to understand you are recording air temperature or the temperature of your hands or of the phone.

M70%
by M####:

I have a Galaxy S6 and thought from the reviews that this app would work on my phone. However it keeps telling me everywhere I go it is 85 degrees even though it is 70 in my car and 65 in my house and 70 outside. So I don't know what it is sensing at 85 degrees. This app is useless for me.

M70%
by M####:

As long as you have not been busy with your phone or tablet, temperature readings for me are spot on, humidity readings are pretty accurate as far as i know, lux level is interesting to have, pressure well i dont have need for that but its cool, altitude though, id like to know where that is being measured from, im on the 3rd floor and theres maybe 10 of me (being 6'2) from the ground to my balcony and it says the altitude is 664m, lol there is no way thats accurate. But great app helped withmy wine storage

M70%
by M####:

Bloody ripper! Thanks you. I didn't know my phone even had these sensors till now.. had my note 3 since they came out in Australia nearly 4 years ago

M70%
by M####:

Although I don’t have all of the sensors the ones that I do have work fine but not especially well in this app. The light and pressure apps were reasonably accurate but the altitude was over 100m off. I don’t have temperature or humidity sensors so the temperature was showing the cpu temp, which seemed fairly close.

B70%
by B####:

Fine for temp, hum & lux readings. When it comes to altitude and pressure, the app needs to compensate with average measurement based on interval reading rather than directly relying on the phone sensor for direct read. This might avoid the crazy change in levels and pressure.

M70%
by M####:

Works very well and helpful, you will notice the difference in the way you feel as the pressure changes. Also proved to my landlord my thermostat was inaccurate. Personally think this app is excellent. I use it a lot.

M70%
by M####:

Could you please clarify if this is supported by Galaxy S5? I am interested in humidity primarily. On this app I get readings for humidity and temperature but I read on the onternet that S5 doesn't have a sensor for that!

R70%
by R####:

on my note 4 all sensors actually work(including temp and humidity). only odd thing is that altitude is reversed, so the value goes down when I go up.

Q70%
by Q####:

im still testing the app out and verifying everything. but the stupid app wont let me do that without rating it so it gets only 3 stars for being annoying.

Z70%
by Z####:

I like the app & recommend it. The continual flipping of the altitude & another function are somewhat distracting & bothersome, but are tolerable. Was disappointed that the temperature sensor is not installed. That's what I wanted most of all.

M70%
by M####:

Even though it is made for S4, it does work on S7 as well which also tells the temp the same way as the S4, by barometer readings. However, temp shown is always in the 30s which is highly unlikely in November in UK. Also the widget does not update. I still can't figure the update frequency which is hours. Other than that, nice app.

M70%
by M####:

Ok,here's the thing. I read the reviews, and thought "ok give it a go". Well here's what I've noticed , if it can work off your Internet your good. HERE'S MY PROBLEM... I STOOD in the water of my pool..hmm... lmao ....with my gs7edge, and the "HUMIDITY" was 31.2% hmmm .meaning it's just another weather app, in disguise. WISH I WOULD HAVE TESTED BEFORE THE 15 MINUTES. Prove me wrong or fix the problem...... "developers". Lol lame.

X70%
by X####:

I have installed this app on a Galaxy S6. According to the specs this phone doesn't have a temperature sensor yet there is a reading - the app info says if the device has no sensor it will be marked "not present" - the temperature reading also doesn't seem very accurate. The altitude drops when I raise it by 1 metre, quite inaccurate - uninstalling.

M70%
by M####:

Especially altitude, took the trouble to check at sea level for correct zero but reads 400m when at known 500m height!!! Plus, yesterday it read 9.7m at a certain spot. The same spot today is 39.8m, seriously?

M70%
by M####:

Does what it claims to do. Unlocks features of my Galaxy Note 4 that I didn't know we're there ! Suggestion to author: include a smoothing option that takes an average over a period of time to stop the apparent jittery Ness of the readings. It's a great app as it is though!

M70%
by M####:

Currently the temp outside is 8oC this app is reading 24oC and claims I am 24m above sea level although I know when I bought this house I am 1m below sea level. So not entirely accurate. Could be that I have only just installed and it needs to settle down. Will keep it as like the features.. will try again tomorrow when I am on the sea front

B70%
by B####:

Alessandro let's make it happen. I used to use another app called "Weather Station" for my S4 but it won't work with the S7 sensors. Your app works great.. just needs a widget.

C70%
by C####:

Really nice app. I am Sorry for the guys that rate 1 star because they don't have the good sensors. On my s6 edge temperature is almost perfect and everything else works flawlessly. Great app

F70%
by F####:

It shows Humidity I don't know how but it senses the Humidity some how on a non Humidity sensor phone. I entered a humidified room it increases and decreases accordingly

K70%
by K####:

Temp, humdity, light, pressure and altitude meters. Not 100% accurate but thats the phones issue. Its not extreme measurment tools after all.

L70%
by L####:

Nothing annoying here, just one place to see what's doing with the weather
