Canary changed what features were free after I purchased mine. Although their terms and conditions apparently allow them to do this. It truly changes the basis of the bargain and I would not have purchased this Canary had I known of the feature changes they were going to make. I will never purchase another one because this company has completely lost its credibility and its Integrity in the marketplace.

4 x all-in-ones, Geo fencing now appears to work again having disabled battery optimisation hidden away in my Google pixel for this app only! Still misses the odd event or starts recording during the event resulting in short clips, misses or recognises arrivals late some times. would like to know or see what events are ignored due to tagging. also see wifi strength on device would be useful. Control who can view clips.

I'm very frustrated and upset with the Canary App. As the app has been updated, it's become worse. I cannot use the app at all. The failures of the app have rendured the Canary useless. When I attempt to open the app it crashes. When I am able to open the app, I cannot view my canary camera. My temperature shows Fahrenheit, but reads a Celsius temperature. Overall I'm disappointed and actively considering other options for an all-in-one home security system.

After latest update one of my Canary-All-In-One's won't record in away/night mode. All other functions still work. I've tried all the the advice from their website but alas nothing. Now I have no protection at the front of my property and it's driving me crazy. Please Canary sort it out before I stop being one of your biggest promoters for your products. Latest update: I contacted Canary and within 24 hours I was contacted by a fellow named Kevin M. who helped me get my camera back online. He was first class. So my advice is if you are having issue's contact them via the app and see what response you get before giving up and leaving negative feedback. Keep loyal to your customers Canary and we will keep loyal to you.

After the lastest update , it baceme useless. Can't access to the device , app crashes everything try watch a recorded video, dont recognize when a member is home or away , basically nothing works . Lucky I dont rely on it as my only security device in my house , otherwise if bad things happen and it don't help . Disable most of it's feature for members only , even a recorded videos only members can watch in full. If something happens and a video recorded we deserve the right to watch in full. Bottom line, money hunger , I am putting it away .

I rarely write reviews, but I couldn't resist with this POS camera and software. The user interface is horrible! Preferences change themselves and you are constantly pushed to sign up for their paid service. I turned off motion alert notifications multiple times, but guess what is currently turned on? Motion alerts! Home/Away switching? Don't expect it to work reliably!

unreliable. Out is supposed to know when you are home or not. It doesn't always work. So whenever you leave out return you need to check the app to ensure it has your status correct. Having said this I don't know of another product that does this.

It's about time, love the new notification sound,j now we have a alarm system. You guys have worked hard, glad you took my advice and came up with a separate notication sound. Changing to a 1 ...Home health not loading as it should. Canary has to many bugs to be call a security system. One day it works the next day it don't, today it still has me at home I left 15 min's ago...

???????? $400 BAIT N' SWITCH... Major Rip Off. With every update it gets worse. With the latest update, all recordings and night mode are now a "Membership" feature? Bait and switch... you can't sell an unstable (full of bugs) product and then take away primary features that helped to sell it in the first place. Why isn't it disclosed in the change log or ever before? Very, very dishonest and disappointing. Class Action lawsuits on the horizon...????????

Need a option to turn on automatically at a certain time rather than GPS. This App is often broken making the security camera itself nearly useless. Automatic GPS doesn't work so it's stuck in away mode sending constant and announg notifications

Sometimes it does not recognize I'm home. Masks don't seem to be very accurate. My 2 Flex lose their charge quickly even though they are not recording.

With each update, the product has become worse and worse. Now I have to have a paid membership in order to record while at home? I will be getting rid of my cameras and going with a competitor. This company isn't going to last much longer.

The latest update, about 30 minutes ago, has caused the app to tell me every few minutes that "unfortunately, Canary has stopped". Every time it does this, my phone resets. My phone is becoming impossible to use. Please patch this.

I get false positives ALL THE TIME. No matter how many times I tag the events the machine learning mechanism is just dumb.

App doesn't switch from away to home and back when I come and go. Notifications are non existent now... I received them when I first got the camera. I just ordered a better camera for the door and I'm gonna put this one in the front room. At least I'll get a notification from the other camera when my kid gets home.

Latest update has signed me out of my account and now I can't re-pair the Canary. Signed back in, but can't pair with the canary as its "device already activated" have you even heard of testing a release before sending it to the store?

The camera and set up works fine but I have emailed canary multiple times about their Geofence system for auto mode switching. It basically doesn't work and when I enter my postcode, it logs me over a mile away. Then in their last update they made a custom notification noise and nothing on the more serious issues

I have 2 canaries in different houses, both work great. You don't need a monthly sub, the extra features are nice but rly you just need it as a nanny cam. Note: even with monthly sub, this is NOT q substitute for ADT or similar (dispatch service). App works great, as advertised.

I was very happy with this app until the last two updates. I am now unable to zoom and move the picture. The buttons are higher in landscape mode and cannot be switched off making it easy to hit them by mistake. Update I have just received an android update and the app is now working ok. Buttons go and I can zoom and move.

I used to think this product was outstanding. Now, I'd consider it worse than awful. It's frustrating. For the past SEVERAL MONTHS it has not been able to detect when I arrive or leave, rendering the device practically useless for me. I've strongly considered stopping use of my Canary altogether. As an Indiegogo backer and membership holder, I am EXTREMELY disappointed.

1) Without a sub, the whole thing is the same as the $40 mini cam i bought a couple of months ago. Except that this app crashes all the time 2)android is always nagging that the app is drawing too much power and should be put to sleep

I like the cameras. The web page is laggy, even with 50mgbit service. Only issue I really have is the recording lapses. It really needs a motion sensitivity control, not a notification control. Missing key motions when not at home. Someone can walk up my sidewalk and it stops recording when they are halfway up. That really isn't helpful for home security.

Canary Flex is absolutely usless security camera without Monthly subscriptions which is considered expensive .. not accurate motion detection and lag for nearly 10 secs.. i would definitely not recommend this product and would go for another products.. the biggest and worst thing is that you cant download any videos without subscriptions ????????!!!!what a waste of money !!

This app is awful. Despite having location services on. It still sees me at hime after i leave until i restart the app. What is the point of that? It is difficult to customize sensitivity. Also you have to pay for further access to specific functions after paying a high price for the actual hardware. Avoid!!! I truly wish I had gone with another service

Zooming and panning function has changed in recent versions and it is hard to see small details... please fix panning when zoomed! Status site is not warning of maintenance... device has been rebooting all day.. still unable to view it. Sad... this gizmo seemed so promising!

Geofencing doesn't work so now it's just a creepy way to spy on family members. Also, the new person detection feature means you can't use it as a nanny cam without getting a notification every 2 minutes, even at the lowest sensitivity setting

This app goes from useful to non functional with the breeze. Only thing it's good for is reporting the temperature inside my living room and telling me I'm an intruder in my own home. If this stupid camera wasn't a gift I'd smash it with a hammer. At least then I'd get some enjoyment from watching it suffer.

They took all the features I originally bought it for. Just a effing paperweight at this point, doesn't even capture all the motion or not at the right time. I have 2 dogs and one likes to destroy things and I've tried to see when he does it and can't unless I pay for a dumb subscription!

2/23/18 update: App is still sluggish with continued pausing. Not my home network because if i go to their website and the live stream page is works fine. New update does not allow the Siren, Talk, Emergency buttons to dissappear when phone is turned sideways. 10/22/17 update: app still continually crashes. Then when it does work the live feed always and i mean always is slow and/or stops. Ever since update on 8/13 or 8/14, live stream is very choppy. 8/29 update: very heavy distortion just to add a talk feature is not worth it. The app distorts rather than stops or pauses because they added the two way talk feature. They did this so there is no delay in the video. Again not worth the heavy distortion. 9/8 update, app crashes all the time now.

Used to love this app, now they're asking for money for basic services! Time to switch, the updates keep removing features - all to force you into paying! Goodbye and good riddens Canary! Update: A year plus later, still worse! False alarms, switches mode even while home and a bunch of other issues. DO NOT USE OR BUY CANARY.

Over 20 false notifications a day ringing my phone, even with motion sensitivity turned all the way down to zero, just from my cat walking around. Never used to happen before the automatic firmware update. Junk.

Have to force close app all the time because it just opens to black screen. Also lost a lot of the functions I bought the thing for when using it subscription free. Pretty much a bait n switch. Looking at Arlo q now.

When I first purchased before all their updates it worked great. Now it doesn't know when I'm home. The fan constantly sets it off. The one time my landlord was in my home it didn't even register that someone was there. I can rarely even open the app without it crashing. Save your money at this point.

Geofencing doesn't work reliably. Doesn't switch modes automatically. Now they took away the ability to watch live, and home health has stopped loading. Canary is one of the few tech products I feel legitimately cheated by, not just disappointed by.
