داستان زندگي سينوهه پزشک مخصوص فرعون رو از کودکي تا پيري روايت ميکنه و اتفاقاتي که براي سينوهه ميفته

مردي که من او را به نام پدرم مي خواندم در شهر طبس يعني بزرگترين و زيباترين شهر دنيا، طبيب فقرا بود،و زني که من وي را مادرمي دانستم زوجه وي به شمار مي آمد .اين مرد و زن ، تا وقتي که سالخورده شدند فرزند نداشتند ولذا مرا به سمت فرزندي خودپذيرفتند .آنها چون ساده بودند گفتند مراخدايان براي آنها فرستاده ونمي دانستند که اين هديه خ ايان براي آنها چقدرتوليد بدبختي خواهد کرد.مادرم مر اسينوهه ميخواند زيرا اين زن ،که قصه را دوست مي داشت اسم سينوهه رادريکي از قصه ها شنيده بود .يکي از قصه هاي معروف مصر اين است ک سينوهه برحسب تصادف ، روزي در خيمه فرعو ن ،يک راز خطرناک را شنيد وچون دريافت که فرعون متوجه گرديد که وي از اين راز مطلع شده ،ازبيم جان گريخت ومدتي در بيابانها گرفتارانواع مهلکه ها بود تا به موفقيت رسيد. مادرم نيزفکرمي کرد که من ازمهلکه ها گذشته تا به او رسيده ام و بعد ازاين هم ازهر مهلکه جان به در خواهم برد.
