mySeminary for Android
I have to sign in every time and the list of family members on the left takes up the entire screen. I can't get to any of the information. So far it's useless on a galaxy 3.
I really was excited when I saw this app. However I can't get beyond the "my family" screen. Bummer. So I really hope that gets fixed. I have 2 kids in seminary so this could be a very useful app
The name screen overrides the other half. Can not use the app at all. Sad because I was really looking forward to it!
Not useful: side bar won't collapse, can't exit app. These are pretty basic functions that prevent any usability. Using Moto Droid Mini.
On Samsung Galaxy S4 I can't close the My Family tab so everything is blocked and the app is useless. Fix this issue and I'll change my review. Thanks!
First screen blocks half the page and won't go away
Useless. All it shows me is my own membership. I can't access any seminary info for my kids.
I can't see anything past the list of family members. It's a great idea, but this app is awful.
I'm a student and it works great. My only complaint is that it doesn't keep me signed in. It makes me sign in everytime I use it.
I can log in but it just give me a green screen and nothing shows up. Tried uninstalling and it didn't work. Please fix.
Being a seminary teacher and mom to seminary students, I get to see both sides to the information available. I skimmed over a couple of comments that I wanted to address. One said something about an issue with the chapters not showing up that needed to be read or what the teacher is covering. That's not an app problem. That's a teacher issue. They have to input that information themselves. It shows up on mine and my parents, but that's because I input the information as a teacher. As far as the attendance percentage, that's the way it's always been with WISE (what we teachers use to input attendance). I know what you mean, but with the way this is done, you are shown how important it is to attend seminary, not to figure out how many days you can miss. If your student has already missed 2 days out of 3, then there is already an issue and you can see it right away. With putting the entire days for the semester, it gives you a false prediction. You are basing their attendance on days they haven't even earned yet or hasn't even happened yet. If your student continues going to class for the next couple of weeks without missing a day, he'she will be back to normal above the 75% mark.
I can't see because the side tab won't close. Useless until that's fixed.
Not working for all incoming Freshmen for registration. Contacted the church's tech team and the local institute/seminary secretary. My advice: Find a member of your bishopric with access to register your child and turn in the parent signature page separately.
I've tried to use this several times, but the collapse button on my youth does not work so that you cannot see the youth, making the app useless. Hope it can be fixed soon.
The app loaded. I signed in. Then it went to the my family screen. It covers the app and makes it unusable on my Droid Mini.
Pretty frustrating. Ask me to login so I do and then it takes me to the church website instead of the app.
This is a complete no op, nothing to see after login., and it hangs. This is coming off of my device pronto
I can't collapse the My Family side bar. Kyocera Hydro Vibe Droid. No luck with my PC either.
Galaxy S4: "My youth" overlay can't be closed. App is not usable at all.
Can't close the side bar to view main screen.
My Family window won't close to allow me access to anything...can't use at all on my lg optimus g pro
As a leader, it's so convenient and easy to get kids registered. One click and done!
I have an Droid and the left side will not collapse. I really want this app to work. Please fix.
It won't go past the my family screen
Well designed, easy to use, looks great on Galaxy S7.
Easy to use. Helped register my son for seminary in moments.
Not working
Love it
Great app
App is not a native Android app, it's just a web site that you open like ours an app. Because if this, it shouldn't even be claimed that this is a legitimate Android app. There is no point in having this app, just use the web site instead, it will work better overall. Please build a native app or don't build one at all, it's not worth the hassle we users have to go through.
It worked great at first. That was probably a month ago. Now, when I sign in, it brings up the list of my kids in front of the Seminary info. It won't slide back to the edge and I can't see any of the Seminary info.
There needs to be a way to save your password so you don't have to sign in every single time
Does not contain allah
I can't register here!!
Educational
I want this app to be successful, but one big draw back, in my opinion, is that attendance is calculated based on the number of days that have actually been held, and not on the total number of days in the semester. This can be very misleading. For example, it shows my son has to do make up work already with only one excused absence so far this term. Because we are only 3 days into the term, it thinks my son's attendance is only 33%, which is below the required 75% attendance, so it shows he owes make up work. That's not necessarily true if you look at how many days he could miss in the semester and still maintain an average above 75%. Therefore, you only get a true report of whether your son/daughter needs make up work on the last day of the semester. It seems like you should be able to calculate how many days could be missed in the semester to be above the required 75% and then have it notify me of make up work only when my student accumulates more than that number of unexcused absences at any time during the semester. I shouldn't have to wait until the last day of the semester for everything to calculate correctly .
Needs to have a pin so we do not have to re-signin every time we open the app, and also have a list of the chapters that need read, as well as the chapters being covered.

I can not give a fair review because I have not gotten past the initial screen. Impossibly to navigate since student selection window covers the majority of my phone screen, both portrait and landscape orientation. My guess is out was tested will for tablets, just not phones. May work wonderfully on a tablet.
