British Water Meter

This water meter reading application has been designed to give confidence to the customer that the water meter is reporting as expected and to eliminate leakage.

In order to gain maximum efficiency from the device the first stage is to input usage for the various areas. Once this has been completed, this can be reviewed on four frequency levels daily, weekly, monthly and annually.

This provides a link to second part as a measure to compare against the real time reading. The real time reading requires the user to input a reading then add a further reading when required, The intelligence of the application will work out a daily forecast on a real time basis. A variance will then be populated to evaluate the analysis. This section is useful to a customer when evaluating a leak. It takes the expected usage and provides a variance against the meter reading. It is then a decision on what action they take.

We have also created a component for the customer to track a real time estimated bill. The component takes the last bill date and reading and can split the bill between the previous and current years charges to ensure all measures are taken into consideration. Having this component has been designed to ensure that there are no surprises for the customer when receiving the next bill.

The water education provides an insight into the impact of the water used around the home.

To ensure that we include all water customers a switch to a meter section. It requires a forecast use from the customer on areas around the home and also requires the unmetered bill. It then displays the impact of the switch on all four periodic frequencies to reflect the impact.

Due to the complexity of the charges for Scottish Water we are unable to give a accurate forecast bill. Also due to possible misleading information, Scottish Water has been exempt from the selection water company lists.
