সপ্তম জাতীয় সংসদে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামীলীগের মনোনয়ন পেয়ে প্রথম বারেরমতো জাতীয় সংসদ সদস্য নির্বাচিত হয়ে “ডাক ও টেলিযোগাযোগ” মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটি এবং “বন ও পরিবেশ” মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। ২০০৮ সালের ২৯ ডিসেম্বর নবম জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামীলীগের মনোনয়ন নিয়ে দ্বিতীয় বার সংসদ সদস্য নির্বাচিত হয়ে “প্রবাসী কল্যাণ ও বৈদেশিক কর্মসংস্থান” মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটি এবং “ভূমি” মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। মোঃ শাহাব উদ্দিন বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামীলীগের মনোনয়ন নিয়ে ২০১৪ সালের ০৫ জানুয়ারী নির্বাচনে জনগণের স্বতস্ফুর্ত ভোটে তৃতীয় বারের মতো সংসদ সদস্য নির্বাচিত হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করেন এবং বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় সংসদের মাননীয় হুইপ হিসেবে দায়িত্ব প্রাপ্ত হন। দশম সংসদের বিশেষ অধিকার সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটি এবং “প্রবাসী কল্যাণ ও বৈদেশিক কর্মসংস্থান” মন্ত্রণালয় সম্পর্কিত স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন। MP Mohammad Shahab Uddin,
