Wyoming 511 for Android
The cameras need to show up big on the screen, not tiny, side-by-side. It's pretty hard to tell anything from them. Scroll them vertically, not half the screen wide, and horizontally.
Current road information for interstate and highway travel.
Awesome
Great to have in bad weather
Huge portions of Wyoming don't have Wi-Fi coverage, but this app still insists on prompting you to enable the Wi-Fi-assisted location service every time you launch it. There needs to be an option to disable this in the settings, because Wi-Fi assisted location doesn't work in much of the state.
For a free app provided by a state/government entity, it's great.
Good app normally no problems
Sucks!!!
Kinda hard to trust the info on here when the signs say otherwise... when there's a light, high profile vehicle restriction it should show it here also...
What does this app need access to my pictures and contacts for? That's totally unwarranted invasion of privacy. Wyoming DOT needs to be less nosy
Very handy during winter driving. The road conditions are only changed when the plow drivers call in updates over the radio.
I'm a professional driver it helps me to look out for mine and the 4 wheelers safety????
It doesn't work
No matter what I do, I get the message "Please enable your location services before you proceed". And that when I have location tuned ON. Galaxy note 5.
Biggest storm of the year and huge accident on I80... App showed nothing, called highway patrol even. They closed at 3 due to weather. Thanks WY DOT. No one drives our needs your assistance when there's bad weather...
Given the sheer amount of land area and miles of highway with nary a Wi-Fi connection to be found in Wyoming, it is incredibly annoying and mildly humorous that this app insists on prompting users to enable Google's Wi-Fi-assisted location service every time you launch it. There needs to be an option to disable this behavior, or the app should just take no for an answer the first time and stop nagging.
Adding back stars with fix in latest version. Reliability much improved with ability to manually update conditions.
Needs the same platform as wyoroads that tells you condition of the roads
Needs to show county roads to
The map is working much better now. Very nice.
Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is app is not refreshing automatically, giving me the information from the last time I opened sometimes from couple of days ago. Overall very helpful, thank you.
Please put mile marker at sensors, some times conditions are too bad to read signs, but mile markers can almost always be read
Hasn't refreshed since dec. 2. Not very handy anymore
Will not refresh, why does the app need the ability to make phone calls?
It does not up date.
Good app
This app doesn't work at all on my Android phone or tablet UNLESS I give it permission to make and receive calls and access all files. All it shows is a map of the state. None of the overlays are shown. The road condition color overlay is not shown. It provides no information on the road conditions. After I uninstalled, reinstalled, and gave it those permissions, it worked OK. I am not sure why it needs those permissions. All of my other road conditions apps work fine without those permissions.
This App is supposed to give road updates, it works 75% of the time, by that I mean it is accurate 75%. Last year I go stranded at a truck stop because app said roads were to bad to drive on, found out from another trucker I could have gotten through with no issues.
The Bell drowns out the first part of the warning message need to wait until the Bell is done to start talking. He's also hard to understand
Used the app last winter for work travel and it helped a lot. Updated info as I moved to a different section of the same highway, as well as, when changing highways. Just got the latest update. Never used the map/webcams on the app only on the website. Got this app primarily for the hands free feature and the ability to get updates while driving! Thanks WYDOT!
Glad to see a 511 app for Wyoming, however the legend is blank, being able to enlarge camera images would be great too, overall a decent app.
Very usefully and intuitive. Quick response
Needs camera view options please.
Total Fail. The app has symbols on a map with no legend. You have to guess at their meaning. The symbols are tiny. No description of road conditions and the map is so small you need a magnifying glass. Then there are these big number things over the map that you have to touch to get rid of, Purpose unknown. Don't try to use it on the road. It's not user friendly. It's too hard to see and figure out.
What I like about the website is that I can pick a road number and view a list of conditions. The app takes me directly to a map, which lags, and is more confusing for me to use. In the end, it doesn't save me time over using the website on my phone, and it takes up more storage space on my phone. I think the map is great, but it would be good if it was an option you can choose to use. Also, I couldn't get the Webcam images to zoom in on my phone, so it puts the app at another disadvantage.
The map is slow and lags a lot. This should not happen with apps in 2016...
Have upgraded to android 6.0.1. Maps on the app do not show any overlay. No cameras or road conditions. Not sure why, but not very useful this way UPDATE: I checked and all the permissions on the app were turned on.... but still no map data. So I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled and made sure to give permission for access to all requested items. IT WORKED!! Thanks.
It's great informative I have noticed a few times that it would say road info that was way outdated
App would be more useful if the info mirrored the WDOT road conditions Web page. Need to be able to access Web cams and wind conditions. Better than nothing.

Easy to use and helpful to let me know when I need to shutdown because of bad road conditions. Perhaps add another color to indicate even worse road conditions than Orange but still drivable. As it is right now Orange can mean a wide range of difficulty.
