What are users saying about Metro-North Train Time

Q70%
by Q####:

Marginally useful. Doesn't show track numbers for GCT departures or indicate whether trains are peak or off peak. Integration with ticketing app sucks.

N70%
by N####:

Used to use this app on an iphone6. Has everything it needs to have, user friendly, quick and up to date. Though on my current S7 edge it defaults to an u known timezone giving me info 11hours ahead, when choosing "now" and wouldn't give me track info when setting foe the current time, making it useless for me. Otherwise would have given 5 star

N70%
by N####:

This app no longer works on my Samsung 7 Edge, same problems as previous review, Now shows 6 hours ahead with no way for me to change it and tracks do not appear in searches. Completely broken and useless, please fix.

G70%
by G####:

Seriously? Please fix this so I can use it on my phone. Otherwise it gets 5 srars. All the people complaining about activating ur ticket need to stop. It literally takes 1 1/2 seconds

A70%
by A####:

Used to work great. I had to do a factory reset, and download all my apps again, and now my MTA app's internal clock is 4 hours ahead, and there seems to be no way to fix this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, but it still has the same problem. This means it's impossible to find departure times for trains leaving in the next three hours, because the app thinks those are all in the past. Very frustrating.

N70%
by N####:

It's not dependable. When you need to check schedule or see if trains are on time there is a good chance it will not let you do it for unclear reasons saying data is not available. Sometimes it apologise but that is no help. When it works it's ok-ish: on a sluggish side, interface is clumsy, but usable.

N70%
by N####:

This may be the worst written transit app I've ever seen. The interface seems to have been designed by failed Soviet apparatchiks. It would literally be quicker to read the f***ing pdf of the schedule.

N70%
by N####:

I just upgraded to a Galaxy S8 and now the app won't show me any morning trains. I can't set the arrival or departure time to AM. Totally bizarre and not helpful at all. I'm a daily commuter and this app is useless now.

U70%
by U####:

Update -- the app magically fixed itself. Putting rating back to 4 stars since I use it every day and it does what its supposed to. It could be better, but it works. Old review: This app has been very useful to me since it came out. However, it doesn't appear to be working properly on my new phone running Android Nougat. It's clearly reading the time without the timezone information, as is 4 hours in the future. If I ask for trips for Now, it gives me 4 hours in the future. If I try to put in the correct time, it won't show me trains because it thinks it is in the past. I don't see any place to ask for help or report problems, so it's going here. The app is currently useless to me because of this.

T70%
by T####:

Very useful for finding train times. Mostly easy to use interface. However, 18 months later and there's still no offline functionality! Absolutely inexcusable for an app to require network to work.

C70%
by C####:

Not really happy with this app because it is difficult to navigate and find information relevant to my current trip in it. Example if I am on a train that left a station on the 9:03 train out of station X and that train is running late it is overly difficult to find out how late I will arrive at my destination station. It appears that once a train has left the station the app forgets that train exists.

N70%
by N####:

It does not allow me to select today's date for train times. Only tomorrow and forward. When I select the station destinations and look for today...it starts me at 1am in the morning and on. It does not even show track numbers when I get to current time. Better off googling train times.

X70%
by X####:

This app still, after all this time, looks like a poorly ported iPhone app rather than a well-written Android app that takes advantage of Android and Google features. What it should do is offer a notification bar feature that knows my typical schedule. Look at Citymapper as a good example of how it is done. This app does not work at all if you are out of data or wifi signal access (like by the tracks in GCT!) or worse, if the are delays. Just subpar all around.

N70%
by N####:

When selecting "Now" time is set at 4 hours ahead. Perhaps is it set at GMT, as opposed to consider the GMT -4 (EST)? Any developer is reading this? I see many reviews with the same issue.

N70%
by N####:

Was great, but the new version doesn't work at all! Train wreck of an app. Bozos!

N70%
by N####:

Response time very slow for an app that needs to be fast. Also, "departing now" feature seems to have departed and all earlier trains are displayed which further delays needed answers.

R70%
by R####:

App used to work but times are not working now. Useless without this working.

H70%
by H####:

The date is wrong when you search for a trip. You can't change the date on it and it is telling me the wrong date. Please fix.

M70%
by M####:

Can't change departure times to AM. Also having the same issue others reported with time zone; one app is giving info for 4 hrs ahead, sometimes 8 hrs or whole days. Useless

P70%
by P####:

Misconfigured time zone reads current time as +2 hours from now, so it doesn't show/let you buy rides within that period

Z70%
by Z####:

Worked fine before on my old phone. Now have a galaxy 7 edge and the clock is off with no way to fix it. So when I try to find the current times it gives me times 6 hours ahead. Tried to uninstall and reinstall to no avail. Please fix!

N70%
by N####:

Awful. Make it so that it remembers my last searched departure/arrival station, for the love of God. Make it so we can favorite a route or something... Pretty basic feature...

N70%
by N####:

The most recent update update broke when 'now' is calculated, and removed track listings. Basically the entire point of the app!

N70%
by N####:

Horrible app. It doesn't display correct time, schedule or gate. I shared feedback on FB, too. No response.

G70%
by G####:

Favorites look like they are wiped out..... try searching for stations, no response.....

N70%
by N####:

This app has always worked for me. The times are always accurate and you can get directions for any trip.

N70%
by N####:

Thinks I'm 6 hours in the future and can't see current schedules.

N70%
by N####:

Missed 2 trains at Grand Central tonight because of this app

N70%
by N####:

How many people need to report that the app cannot tell time before the developers will fix it?

N70%
by N####:

The time zone is about 6 hours off. So it doesn't actually give the train times or platform for now.

K70%
by K####:

This happens always at least 50% correct you are better off Googling train times because empty a time will have you rushing to a station to sit and wait for another train

N70%
by N####:

All the train times are blank! What's the point of the app if it fails at that.

N70%
by N####:

Please bring back the option to see the stations and arrival times between origin and destination. Knowing when the strain would arrive at a station on the route helps organize meet-ups of groups.

J70%
by J####:

Useless for mtas orphaned line, left of hudson

J70%
by J####:

Trips not loaded. Unable to use app

N70%
by N####:

Works for the most part, but still a little glitchy.

U70%
by U####:

Ticket integration sucks. I have single and monthly tickets, favorite schedules matched up to those, but it takes me to buy ticket screen, not the ticket wallet. If the broken integration was never put in, three stars. When there is no signal, there is no offline backup schedule. Delays don't show original schedule.

N70%
by N####:

This last update changed the colors. In visually impaired and the colors on the original app were bright. This is nothing but a white background and some letters. Please bring the reds back or at least give us a choice of what background and color scheme we want.

Y70%
by Y####:

The date/time picker in the Search for Upcoming trip page is like nothing I've ever seen. Sep Fri 30 2016 1:30 PM. Weird format Why display year? You cant change it. Why would you anyway...who plans a commute a year in advance? Are the schedules even available? If its the end of the year, then you're not gonna go into January and not know its 2017. If you want to display the year, put it at the end and make it "read only", and have it change automatically. Wish i had more space to criticize this.

Z70%

Were all NYC train users! We go under ground A LOT. Why do i need to connect to the internet to see anything? If i dont have service, just tell me the last update on the train times and tell me when they were last updated. And what are you guys loading on app launch?! I just wanna know the time of the two trains I take every day. That should be 4 bytes of data if youre creative. Fix it. You got this. Your engineers transport millions of people. I know you can do this. 5 stars when you do.
