Hello for the past week i have been trying to get chatsecure to with with Orbot just keeps saying sighing in but never logges in. I turn orbot off and i can sign in please help.

if it's "secure" and"private" why does it want your id info? this is not how such privacy apps should behave.

Shutdown and lock does nothing but cycle the app even after unchecking the "start automatically" option in settings. Please fix this. Its killing my battery life. App works great otherwise.

Whenever I check the "connect with tor" it says orbot isn't running. Clicking OK to start orbot flashed orbot on screen then back to chat secure. Registering or signing in still don't work. Restarting orbot resolved the issue.

Can not set a password when I start it for the first time ... i should choose skip to continue ... any one knows the reason?!!! ... tried it on several devices still have the same problem

When I hit shut down and lock, it still remains open no matter how many times I exit the program. The notification bar icon will continue to persist.

Dark theme gray bubble makes it difficult to read numbers! Can users have the option to change their colours?

Not able to use it's main function, doesn't connect to orbot and it's working, I checked.

Too many messages not recieved, encryption takes too long.

Using Android OS version 6.0 on a Samsung S5 your program does not connect to orbit at all and keep saying it wants to use Orbot despite the fact it is already running. You guys really need to fix this ASAP.

Shame you're sticking to that one platform. Oh well, move along.

My encryption lock won't lock.. been trying for hours.. how does this fix

I cannot believe you would drop android support in favor of that closed source spying OS. Shame shame shame.

Thanks for the years of work on chatsecure. Yet i'm curious why new permissions after ending active development?

Keeps crashing every time I switch between apps.

Won't sign into my Google account. Keeps telling me that it's signing in and that's it. No contacts

So the app that is supposed to help you stay secure by not revealing to much about you now wants permission to your device Id and/or your phone call information?!!!! No thanks

Everything it says it does, user friendly.

I don't know how it checks if orbot is running, but it doesn't work on Android 7. Every attempt to sign in with 'use orbot' checked is met with a message saying that orbot isn't running. It then attempts to start orbot, and loops back to the sign in button. Everything else works as expected, though.

In group chat we can not share file, voice, pic and no thing it is some line sms env. Am I wronge? Or sending pics, files... are just for 2way chat and not group chats.

It used to interfere with regular Hangouts when using encryption, but now it works. Edit: found a problem where images are sent encrypted in an unencrypted Google chat. No work around.

Great app but unfortunately the developer has announced that this app is discontinued. (I really wish they would reconsider!) I will keep using it until it stops working.

I'm not sure how to setup an account, I don't know what xmpp or jabber or any of that is, I like the idea of being able to communicate privately and securely but there is NO tutorials, instructions or anything that I can find online. I don't know what any of the settings or features do. You download the app and that's it, you're on your own. I just need a step by step tutorial on how to use it. I'm not dumb, just new to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Supposed to be able to use this in place of messenger. COULD NOT find ANYTHING in the way of how to set if up. Wasted a full day on it. How about some guides. Really what a complete joke. I'm sick of wasting time on apps like this!

if you have no idea what xmpp or otr is than you'll need to do some research before you can use this with any ease. it's just not that user friendly if your new to encryption & tor related technologies.

Doesn't allow blocking of messages from unknown contacts - esp. Russian spam, this is getting worse. Doesn't download contacts for added account. No history. I'd love to use the app, but my Riseup XMMP account almost never let's Me sign in. It signed in once. I tried again with Orbot, never connected. Just kept saying signing in. I try again without Orbot, doesn't work. Very confused as to why.

It's good,but looks too average. Make it look like Signal or Telegram ( Get rid of these awful blurred buttons,or make them look better )

I am not able to start chatsecure from contacts directly from IM segemt of contact.. the account is logged in chatsecure but when i click IM in contact , the chatsecure startups and says 'Create a new chat account for username 'null' ? Kindly provide the solution

Otr will connect when it wants to. I will go days with it working fine and then it just wont lock for some contacts. This is pretty much the point right? Without tor and otr i should just give out my number and just send sms.

the setting for the custom port is not working,the issue tracker seems to get ignored. app is not useful this way

I expected it to be bad, but not this bad.

Works great but the key sync feature isn't working.
