WaterNav North West for Android
Found i-phone version useful. Now I have an Android, it's just as good.
Good now .with the new update.sick of this.now wont work AGAIN. Tile not available in this app... bogof
Really useful on a boat to know exactly where you are, and where facilities, mooring, shopping etc are. However, it would be better if there were one app with map upgrades for each region (in-app purchase?). Works on old and new devices, but manual scrolling only good on new/faster ones.

Cluttered map, unable to plan routes, distance is only as crow flies, more of a novelty really.
Downloaded app hoping it would give concise mapping details of canals that I will be visiting but it is in effect a open street map with overlays so map redraw time is slow also found no way entering two place names (marina's) that had been there for the last 3-4 years, so for myself not worth the money.
I have tried and tried to get a response to get the interim update for Android 4.4 but to no avail. It was good when I could use it but know just a waste of space.
Currently using the app as a walking / cycling aid. Have so far only tried the app out a couple of times whilst out for a walk along some of the lock flights along the Leeds & Liverpool canal. Panning of the Maps can be slow and my freeze when the zoom scale is above 100mtrs - may be due to the large amount of map data its trying to handle, trick on 200mtr scale seems to be - move your finger slowly and let the map update. When zoomed in to the 100 / 20mtr ranges the screen scrolls ok. POI data useful ( Only tested the Pub / Cafe icons so far ! ). Hope to try it out more when the weather warms.
Does not run on my gingerbread
