About Welgoat
The WelGoat App is the first specialized application developed to qualitatively assess lameness and claw overgrowth in dairy goats. All the design and technological aspects behind the App was developed by the AWIN WP4 team (Universidade Positivo, Brazil) in consultation with the scientists who scientifically validated the lameness and claw overgrowth scoring system: AWIN members from WP1 (Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, Portugal).
The user of the WelGoat App will have full access to:
1) Introductory videos that define the issue of lameness and claw overgrowth for dairy goats as well as the relevance of monitoring and measuring the welfare of their animals.
2) A training session to be able to score lameness and claw overgrowth.
3) A scoring session where users are able to score lameness and claw overgrowth in their own goats and keep track of their clinical signs and any other issue in the smartphone database.
