In 2009, he got a merit certificate from the office of the Development Commissioner for Handloom, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India on the Jamdani style of weaving. His clients include Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, the late Hemanta Mukharjee (singer), Moushumi Chatterjee (actress), Soumitra Chatterjee (actor), Pupul Jayakar (the driving force behind the revival of the handloom industry during the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s time), Aparna Sen (actress and film director), and many others. He also supplies exclusive handwoven sarees to the West Bengal Govt. for the Biswa Bangla Shop.
