Hand in Glove for Android
Phone rings when your hands are wet? Greasy fingers? Need to make a quick call while you have your mitts on? You need Hand in Glove!
Hand in Glove lets you make and receive calls without needing to touch the screen. Just the hardware volume buttons (because they *always* press, no matter what the state of your hands).
** EMAIL apps@lipik.in if you have any problems. Or use the contact developer button at the bottom of the market listing ON YOUR PHONE **

* INTRO
Hand in Glove uses volume buttons to let you receive, or make, calls. You can answer (or ignore) a call just using the volume buttons. You can also use the volume buttons to select call people from you call history.
-Custom lock screen allows you to make calls without touching the screen.
-Volume buttons allow phone operation when phone is ringing, or in a call.
-Doesn't interfere with the normal phone operation.
-Lock screen only stays on for a few seconds, so normal functions of the phone are not compromised.
-Easily enable/disable the app through the notification bar, so it is active only when your hands are not (so to speak).
*****
* GUIDE
When you turn the screen on, you will see a screen like the first screenshot below. Long press the volume-up hardware button to call the last person you spoke to, or long press volume-down to get a list of contacts (screenshot 2). The lock screen can be dismissed by swiping the orange swoosh, or goes away by itself if you do nothing for 5 seconds (you can change this interval in preferences).
The contacts list is ordered by the phone numbers you called last, and how often you call them. You can move up and down this list by pressing the volume buttons. When the required contact is selected, long press the volume-up to call them. Or long press volume-down to dismiss this screen. Phone vibrates to tell you when long presses have been registered.
When your phone rings, there will be a transparent overlay displayed, and you can press volume-up to accept the call, or volume-down to ignore it.
While you are in a call, there is an overlay present as well (screenshot 3). Long pressing Volume-down ends the call, volume-up turns the speakerphone on (volume-down to turn it off again, and then once more to end the call).
PLEASE NOTE:
1. This is a proofing version of this app, offered free. DO send an email with your feedback.
2. The app has been tested with stock Android version 2.2 and 2.3, 4.2, as well as HTC Sense 2.2 and 2.3. I do not have access to devices from other carriers, so your feedback will be very welcome.

* PERMISSIONS
-Read your phone's state (whether ringing, in-call, or idle). Obvious.
-Modify the state of sound on you phone. Only used to temporarily silence the ringer when you ignore a call.
-Make calls from your phone. Obvious.
-Read your contacts list. Needed to let you choose which contacts to call.
-Unlock your phone. So you only need to see one lock screen.
-Vibrate your phone. To let you know when long presses have been registered.
-Draw over other apps. To let the overlay be drawn over call screen.
-Hand in Glove DOES NOT have internet permission. Your data isn't going anywhere
-Modify the state of your phone, i.e. make/reject calls. This permission is requested, but not granted on Android versions above 2.2. Without this permission it is not possible to reject a ringing call, so we ignore it by silencing the phone instead.

Needs improvement. Working with thin clothe gloves only
Doesn't work on lollipop
Works fine on my Xolo q 700. Very useful for talk back users. Would be great if the answer/decline with volume buttons feature could be provided on the active screen as well. Many TalkBack users would welcome that.
Read the brief description to learn the button functions, and you'll be good to go!
Play with it a little bit so you're familiar with it before you walk out the door, but this is a great idea done well.
Fantastic!
Works great on my HTC Desire S.
Doesn't work on my droid 2. Can't make calls after following instructions
Does not work as stated
Though volume down key rejects the call but volume up does not answer. Therefore, uninstalling it after several failed attempts to get it work.
Its not working on xperia z I put on my gloves and its not working
Don't bother dosnt work
Bad version
Dirt
just as intended. No ads, no useless crap. You can switch off the make-a-call option and just answer the call with the volume button. Please make a feature to completely hide the app from the notification bar! I do not need to switch it off!
Don't you hate when you miss a call because the touch isn't responding on an incoming call. Google gotta fix this problem asap it's been there since the start of Android. At least this app with shake to answer and air wave are helping
Good
The app is a great idea, however its not working excellently on my HTC One X. Have practised for quite a while but it only ends calls. I've been unable to pick any call with it.Just doesn't work.
Its ok, works fine. Personally, I don't like the lack of settings to remove it from the tray and from the calling screen.
Definitely one of those "why didn't I think of that" things. I use it allll the time.
What a GREAT idea! Genius intact! I just downloaded it and haven't tried it yet, but I really, really hope it works like the description says it will. (I will update this comment once I've tried it for a few days.) It is a must have app for anyone who lives where it is cold and gloves / mittens are a must! Will update comment once I've tried it for a little while. Xperia X10 - Dec 30
Will not work on the droid x 1.
If only there wasn't a call contact option and instead a voice search option. That would be more useful since there are voice actions.
But it semes I need to lock my phone twise
Excellent app, works on my HTC desire.
Doesn't work if you have a third party call screen, e.g. HD Caller ID. Also, the screen freezes for a while after you unlock the phone. I love the idea but it needs improvement, hasn't helped me much in the freezing cold so far((
Like remove the menu on notification bar
Won't open at all on my incredible 2
Wow, I'm in the change log! Still a bit buggy, but I'm sending reports as fast as I could
On HTC Incredible the receive call functionality doesn't seem to be working. Other than that works exactly as advertised, and will be useful indeed!
This apps very much so essential for winter and answering calls works without a hitch. My only complaint was ending the call using the "lower volume key", it simply lowered call volume like usual and holding it down muted the call. It's not a huge deal breaker since answering a phone call is what I'm gonna mainly be needing this for but it could be annoying if it doesn't get fixed. Droid 2 with Liberty rom.
Had a need for this not five minutes after installing it; it's damned freezing out. Great, useful concept. Gimme voice search too and I'll throw in $!
Works exactly as described, very nice. Support is great too.
Volume buttons just mute the ringer as always. Ill change my rating once my phone works
