Yali Dream Creations is a comic company focused on creating original stories to engage global audiences using comics and graphic novels.
The name ‘Yali’ was inspired from the Hindu mythology. The unknown story of Hindu Mythical animal – Yali (யாளி) Hindus mythical animal or monster Yali can be found in Hindu temples as an ancient art. It has been widely used in South Indian temples pillars. Part of Lion and Elephant as a body and head. These type of ancient mythical animals can be found in various parts of the world and religions.
In July 2012, an Indo-American IT professional named Asvin Srivatsangam founded a comic book company with the name Yali Dream Creations. Asvin Srivatsangam met with Comic Writer Shamik Dasgupta through one of the popular social media. They hatched a plan to create a graphic novel. The resultant effort was The Caravan, an original graphic novel. This graphic novel was launched at Bangalore Comic Con 2013, India. The Caravan was optioned for Hindi movie rights to a production house owned by an A-lister actor from Mumbai, India. Aside from The Caravan, YDC has also created Devi Chaudhurani, RAKSHAK and The Village.

My review - As a person who has had a perpetual penchant and a very kiddish affinity towards comics since my childhood, it was quite refreshing and surprising to explore the vengeance genre through this very engaging, captivating and finely portrayed comic book called "The Chronicles of Rakshak". This comic, which narrated the story of a blacksmith named Deven Bhaiyya, who has strong moral values and is benevolent in nature but reinvents his darker side after the death of a loved one in a dog who gets killed by the Hafta Vasooli Gang. The dog was his only companion. The protagonists darker side has its roots in his childhood, when his father had taught him about the perils of life, which needs a man to be an antagonist too. The comic weaves a story of how this man gets vindictive and avenges the the death of the dog and an old beggar. It has very good visual graphics and the imagination of the graphic designer is commendable and focus on minutest details to create a visual clarity. The writer has also used his wit in bits and pieces and it makes the comic a complete entertainment package. This story based in Delhi , ruled in 28 pages comic book is the best thing I read today.
