Lanna (Thai: ล้านนา), or Kham Mueang (Northern Thai: กำเมือง), is the language of the Khon Mueang people of Lanna, Thailand. It is a Tai language, closely related to Thai and Lao.


Unfortunately, even Northern Thai has approximately six million speakers, most of them barely capable to writing nor reading Lanna language. It's of course sadly slowly dying language.


BiLan (leaf of fan palm that was once widely used as a paper to write Lanna texts) app allows you to easily write Lanna text by simply using Thai Keyboard on Android devices.
