About Biryani By Kilo
Biryani is a dish, that has always been considered as the food for the royal classes, prepared by khansamas in large quantities, biryanis were meant to be eaten together. An interesting story traces the origins of the dish to Mumtaz Mahal (1593-1631). It is said that once she visited the army barracks, and to mark the occasion of her visit the khansama was directed to prepare a special dish which provided balanced nutrition to all. The khansamas worked for 2-3 days and prepared a wholesome, flavourful dish which consisted of meats, vegetables and rice… and thus, Biryani was born. Over a period of time, it became one of the most sought after dishes, each khansama preparing it in his own unique style. As the nawabs, army commanders travelled all over the country, they took their khansamas with them to provide nutritious food to their families. However with the change in location getting the right ingredients was not always possible. Soon folks were sent across the mountains to Afghanistan or Persia, to bring melons, dry fruits and pomegranate so that the shahi bawarchi khana could once again revive with the rich flavors of royal Mughlai cuisine. Every time the khansama succeeded it became a celebration…various styles of biryanis were prepared…the bawarchikhana doors were thrown open for all…food became a style of celebration.

I ordered 1/2 kg of chicken hyderabadi biryani. Taste was good but it had only 3 pieces of chicken though it used to have 4 pieces earlier. Called on customer support, the guy was continuously arguing with me on this and was not professional at all. Really bad service.

Waste of money! Pathetic. Mutton in hyd biryani 1/2 kilo had 3 pcs, 90% bone 10% meat. Rice tasted ok. Redemption fails even if order >750. Feeling cheated... For eyes of Mr Roy.

Biryani was bland and no spices at all .. salan was also very bland . And raita to contrary was a plain yogurt with a thin consistency. They should increase their food standards...disappointed on very first order

My first order ..was expecting great biryani & kebabs. However will rate both just Ok. However it was disappointment to eat phirni..it was sour..gone bad. Surprised to see that no checks are done before dispatching food. Anyhow I did get the fresh phirni.

The application pisses off. It doesn't show the cart. It is difficult to change d adress. It simply doesn't work as all other apps these days. I sceduled the time 8-9 pm, it automatically changed to 5-6 pm, i saw it after payment done and then there is no option to change it. Then i called them and they confirmed my request but didn't give any written confirmation, which leaves me perplexed. Yet to experience the delivery n taste.

I think Biryani by kilo serves the best biryanis in Gurgaon. Although they take a lot of time to prepare it(usually 90-120 min), however the final product is worth the wait. The packaging is a major plus point and it is well said that whatever looks good usually tastes good too. Cheers!

If there is one authentic online biryani place, it's BBK. Since I've ordered from here, a few months ago, I've ordered biryani from no where else. Just one feedback - for the price BBK charges, they must increase the amount of meat in the biryani.

No problem with the app but it's not just worth it. Only 6 very small pieces of mutton in a kilo biryani. You will feel cheated, may be chicken is better but ghost Lucknow biryani was not work at all. Delivery was before time, well presented but nothing special or exciting with taste just a bland rice is what you will find in a big pot.

The app is very bad ....it deducted payment first from my Paytm account and showed failed transaction .... the same happened with credit card ... and the amount is not refunded even after 20 days ... your waiting time sucks and now your payments .... you are simply cheating people on app

Today on the occasion of EID I opted Biryani by Kilo for the first time, and I loved it. Right from online order system to delivery, packing, and taste of food everything was great. Food was tasty and delicious. Keep up the good work.

Good taste, but expect only one or two peices of chicken in the Kolkata biryani. Really disastrous if u have called guests. Will not order from here again. Go for other options if u like biryani and would also want to cater to guests.
