The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen or AIMIM is a Muslim political party in Hyderabad, which has its roots in the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen founded in 1927 in the Hyderabad State of British India. AIMIM has held the Lok Sabha seat for the Hyderabad constituency since 1984. In the 2014 Telangana Legislative Assembly elections, the AIMIM won seven seats and received recognition as a ‘state party’ by the Election Commission of India. The AIMIM was initially a city-based party, with influence only in Old Hyderabad but the party won 2 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, 2014 and emerged as the second largest party in the Aurangabad municipal elections. The party president and member of parliament Asaduddin Owaisi received the Sansad Ratna Award for 2014.

The All India Majlis Ittehad ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is a political party dedicated to protect and advance the rights of Muslims, Dalits, BCs, Minorities and all other underprivileged communities in India. It bears true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India. It strongly believes in the nation’s secular democracy and strives to protect and enhance its quality by effective representation from local municipal councils to the parliament.
