About Sensor Box for Android
Sensor Box for Android detects all available sensors on your Android device, and vividly shows you how they work with amazing graphics. Sensor Box for Android also tells you which sensors are supported by the hardware, and provides extremely useful sensor tools that could be used in our daily life.
Sensors included
- Gyroscope Sensor
Gyroscope sensor can measure six directions at a time. You will be able to see the effects immediately by rotating your phone slightly. Now Gyroscope sensor is mostly used in 3D game development, and possibly indoor navigation in future.
- Light Sensor
Light sensor is applied to detect the light intensity of the environment, and then adjusts screen brightness and determines whether to turn off the keyboard light. Test the effect by putting your phone in dark place and retrieving it.
- Orientation Sensor
Orientation sensor is applied to detect direction status of the device, i.e. auto rotate screen when device is rotated horizontally. It can also be used as measure equipment like Spirit Level.
- Proximity Sensor
Proximity sensor measures the distance between two objects, usually the device screen and our hands/face etc. Test the effect by moving your hand forward and backward in front of the device in Sensor Box for Android.
- Temperature Sensor
Temperature sensor provides information about your device temperature, thus you can take action when the temp is too low or high.
- Accelerometer Sensor
Accelerometer sensor is applied to detect device directions, i.e. auto rotate screen when the device is rotated vertically. It is also widely used in game development.
- Sound
Sound detects the sound intensity around you and provides you detailed information about the intensity changes.
- Magnetic Field
Magnetic Field is used in many areas like metal detection and compass, which bring us lot convenience in our life.
- Pressure
Pressure is used to detect environmental pressure, thus to forecast weather and temperature.
Sensor Box for Android only detects changes. It may not show the correct temperature, proximity, light and pressure values if no changes occur.

Accelerometer and orientation sensors are a bit off and gyroscope keeps moving even when standing still on a table. How can I calibrate?

Says "Sorry, your device hardware does not support the sensor." for every sensor except sound. Samsung Galaxy tab S2 on Android 5.1.1. I know my tablet has at minimum the light sensor, magnetic sensor, and either accelerometer, gyroscope, or orientation sensor. And that the light and magnetic sensors are working. Trying to troubleshoot autorotation problem, but when the app says my tab doesn't even support 8 of the 9 sensors it can detect I know the app isn't working.

Excellent application. In my opinion, this app is to see what sensors you have and not an actual reading. Basically, just a check. I've seen poor reviews about it not being accurate. It has proven 100% accurate on 90% of my devices. The other 10% where cheap tablets. It did still show the sensors, it just couldn't read them properly. I don't blame the app designer for this though. I myself have issues creating applications to work with cheap devices. = )

I find it useful. Especially when I need to see my phones temperature, when I feel it's heating up. I recommend. I also use it while travelling. On aircrafts, cabin pressure falls at times. And that causes ear pain. So I keep checking pressures with this app and when they seem to be plunging I start chewing gum, since chewing/swallowing reduces or prevents ear aches associated with flying.

However, the gyroscope test needs fixing. Other gyroscope monitoring apps update frequently and accurately, showing expected rotation rates and orientation angles on a graph. The colorful cube on this doesn't reorient itself properly after a few slow turns, and if I flip my phone in the air fast, everything goes wrong. Showing the sensor values real time would be a great addition as well - the cube is vague at best.

Read about this in Drippler and had to give it a try. I am really glad I did. It gives you a lot of info about your phone that I took for granit. It is an amazing app that helps you better understand how some of the things your phone does in a fun and interesting way. Nice job!
