Zom Mobile Messenger

I liked this app. I'm on the lookout for a private chat app which do not add all my contacts, and this being not needing my contact number was great! It has a fun design too! Unfortunately, the stickers are limited in a non-english language (tibetan) so not being able to use them, and thus not able to make others migrate to this. If this is fixed I will come back, until then continuing the search.

It's a pretty good xmpp client but I have a serious issue with the way they set up new accounts with a random account name and password. I'll stick with conversations.

Even not able to connect correctly (nimbuzz.com) we dont know who is offline or online, N lil bit need to change The GUI.

I can no longer maintain a stable connection to an XMPP server. Always at "Singing in..." and seems to just hang there. Can't use it.

App is ok, a few issues when trying to add contacts & send messages. Not quite fluid yet but its still ok. Could do with a message burn feature

It's ChatSecure with fun. Yet to test. Five stars for now because it's ChatSecure, you know. Lemme check by experimenting then.

Can't exit the app. Has no way to close it. Have to force stop it through settings > apps. Has a stupid way of inviting a user to a burner chat. Uses a bunch of letters that you would have to text to that person via normal SMS or some other non private way so really defeats the purpose.

Make an exception rule in twilight if you're running it! The overlay protection in Zom prevents most functions from running while twilight is engaged. Apart from that, it works wonderfully!

What am I missing starts with zom screen press that then goes to screen with a cartoonish picture of a cell phone and people around it. Then nothing

This app has everything I can hope for. It's early but as they get communications between Android and iOS sorted out, this may become the best open source option I've seen.

Technical documentation is missing (I run cryptoparties and learned by chance that this is the successor to chatsecure, so maybe I should trust it ...). Crashes on receiving a question/answer-based auth attempt from pidgin (I pressed "send" so devs should have crash data).

I like you idea and work keep it up but there were some bugs

All the best of current open source and security tech in one easy to use app. It's new so there are some kinks to iron out but the planned features coming soon are spot on. If you need security details see their website. If you're an early adopter of the latest ethical-tech use the app and share feedback on their site to support this smart effort.

I would give it one more star of it could send attachments. As of today 10/16/16 it can't.

Would not trust it one bit I want to know what my security settings and if I'm using end to end encryption

Where is the detailed technical info about privacy, encryption, security? Do I have to go through your code just to find out how reliable this really is? >:[

My friends and I are looking for an alternative to WhatsApp. Will give 5 stars when I see it being improved upon.

Tried checking the box to keep it running. Connection dies and won't reestablish a secure connection or forward and receive messages.

it says added contact, but can`t see it in friends list!

Tried this as a WhatsApp alternative. Worked nicely. Got new phone. Tried to add zom contacts saved on old phone - troublesome. I'll persevere with it as I like the idea and team behind it.

Looking forward to seeing how this project proceeds.

I would keep coming back for the stickers that Zom offers + of course to privately chat with my family. Also can't wait to invite my cousin Zomkey and bombard her chat with Zomkyi stickers. She would love her namesake.

Very good but for a serious app like this version of Chatsecure a very childish interface, and pink ! Reply from Hans 22-06-16 sounds to me like a very good idea to have this minimal mode version, good work !

Wasn't sure about individually adding people but it's fine

I think there should be link between Facebook to find friends from there and can have own password choice .thank you but still its great.
