What are users saying about Gitter: Chat for Github & more

T70%
by T####:

Great APP. Am with my team even on transit. However, it consumes power a lot. Twice more than Instagram & other heavy duty Apps, even when am in just one chat room.

F70%
by F####:

It is quiet good but lack of performance, it's quiet laggy in my Xiaomi Redmi 1s, fix would be so helpful! Good work guys

Q70%
by Q####:

I never get any sort of notification. What's the point of a chat app if we never get notified of a chat?

N70%
by N####:

Needs a lot of work, has no features and settings, can't edit it copy... It never gives you system notifications, so I have to go into the app to see if there are any

N70%
by N####:

Notifications aren't working. They haven't since I installed. Email dev, no response.. Hence 1 star rating.

J70%
by J####:

It's quite limited in features and rather buggy. It's a chat app for developers that doesn't let you insert code snippets or even enter a new line into the message. When reading code snippets horizontal scrolling works about 5% of the time.

H70%
by H####:

This app quality is the reason I dream all those gitter rooms find another places for conversations (say, Telegram). The app is the gitter's outstanding shame.

W70%
by W####:

I am using an IRC desktop client. Texting from android client is not updating my irc client.

N70%
by N####:

It doesn't support any of the features that I use gitter for

G70%
by G####:

Very limited notification settings.

C70%
by C####:

Where are the settings?

N70%
by N####:

Needs lots of improvements...

N70%
by N####:

Can't login

W70%
by W####:

Works perfect

N70%
by N####:

One outstanding annoyance that has always been present: I can't edit. This is incredibly annoying when combined with an aggressive autocorrect. And can't enter multiline code, though this is more of a platform problem. And no way to start 1-to-1 messaging, even though I can interact if convos already exist. No way to post images. Currently text input is incredibly bad, errors when using non-alphabetic chars. Paste is seriously broken. Passable effort, but frustrating to use

N70%
by N####:

It sends the written message automatically when i press back button or do something else. There needs to be a send button and it should send only when I tap on it. No copy, cut, paste options pop up when I long press in empty message box but pops up fine when I select the written text Also no option to add images unlike in web client where I can just drag and drop.

N70%
by N####:

1) I cannot leave a room. It remains even after clicking on Leave Room. 2) scrolling back to 1st unread message is quite difficult & should be an option. Green indicators disappear too quickly.

F70%
by F####:

Need to show "@" names like the website. Almost no one's "@" name matches the part of the name you do show, making it very hard and sometimes impossible to participate in the conversation. Also, can you please allow 1 on 1 messages? If these 2 things are fixed, this would be a 5 star app but, both are way too important to be left out so. Only 3 for now....

N70%
by N####:

Can't see keypad - Sony Xperia L

N70%
by N####:

Can't leave the chat room

Z70%
by Z####:

I would like it if I could set notifications on ONLY for mentions and not every message in every room I'm in.

S70%
by S####:

Since I logged in have not been able to use the app.. No activity

N70%
by N####:

1. Could you make "Auto-scroll to the earliest unread message" option, please?

N70%
by N####:

The app is easy to use and great for coders

Y70%
by Y####:

Simple and straightforward

F70%
by F####:

Like editing your message after send, insert linebreaks, report button, markdown formatting buttons. Notifications are buggy.

N70%
by N####:

Much better then the old version. To give a small remark: a global notifications setting would be great (i.e. do not disturb); would be worth the 5th star :) and finally: thanks for asking! Edit: why isn't the menu used as... Well... The menu? It should have the rooms listed in there instead of through a back button ;)

N70%
by N####:

It has an important memory/cpu leak and it drains my battery, I was trying to find the source code to see if I can help with the issue but this app isn't an open source project :( ; I wanted to put 3 stars but at the end I really found this app useful.

N70%
by N####:

Not able to see the github username below a person's name. I can see it through browser.

W70%
by W####:

Gitter app is not responding most of times in my Nexus 5 with Marshmallow. And it would be great if you guys can add image uploading feature in Android app.

N70%
by N####:

Appears to be a problem with github's mobile page rather than the app itself

N70%
by N####:

With two-factor authentication on github turned on, this app is useless.

X70%
by X####:

Hello.. I'm unable to log in using github. Appreciate ur help.
