Skerries Mills

Skerries, a small seaside town 30 km north of Dublin City, is a home to a unique collection of working mills - a watermill powered by a pitch-back waterwheel, 5-sail tower windmill and 4-sail thatched windmill. The mills demonstrate an efficient and clean use of water and wind power and are a rare survival of 17th, 18th and 19th industrial history. The Mill complex with its millpond, mill races and wetlands is now the focal point of a Town Park and winner of national environment, heritage and construction awards.
