About McKennas Wild Atlantic Way
In 2014, both the Wild Atlantic Way and John and Sally McKennas' book, “Where to Eat and Stay on the Wild Atlantic Way”, proved to be sleeper hits.
With relatively little fanfare, but with an awful lot of signposts, the Wild Atlantic Way powered into travellers' minds in 2014, and anyone running a restaurant, hotel or B&B on the route quickly saw visitors who were heading either north or south on the 1200 km route, which runs from Kinsale to 'Derry.
John and Sally McKennas book, “Where to Eat and Stay on the Wild Atlantic Way”, took the north-south route – it starts with the Foyle Bridge and concludes with Kinsale – and with little fanfare the book quickly turned into one of the fastest selling titles the McKennas have written over more than 25 years of producing guide books to Irish food and hospitality.
In 2015, the WAW is once again going to deliver curious travellers and food lovers to the West Coast of Ireland, and the McKennas have responded by bringing out both an updated version of their WAW book, and an interactive WAW app, which will help every traveller to navigate the route and find all the most interesting places to eat, stay, shop and explore.
