Want to start music or podcast playback from your wrist?
Now with Playback Starter on your Android Wear Smartwatch you can!
Just tell your watch you want to "Start Playback" and it will show you the list of applications that will accept a start playback command.
The app you choose will be launched and told to start playback remotely.
Because some of the applications that say they will accept a playback command don't seem to do anything with them you can hide them from the app on your phone.
This app was inspired by Media Button Router and uses it's method for finding applications which can be told to start playback. ( https://code.google.com/p/media-button-router/ )

Now if Spotify was not already running Playback Starter will launch it and wait 6 seconds until it sends the play command to Spotify.

I happen to have a bug in which two instances of soundcloud appears but otherwise works flawlessly! also wish we could customize the icon, the checker is a bit of an eyesore

I've actually wanted something like this since I've gotten my Moto 360. I couldn't believe I stumbled upon this app! Now I can't start playing music from any of my music app without talking to my watch or touching my phone.

The app music playlist for wear is MUCH MUCH better, just create playlists in play music, and choose them from watch, this app doesn't even start playback with play music, and I cannot get it to for the life of me. Just do yourself a favor and get music playlist for wear
