iFly GPS for Android
Great product for the android tablet.
I doubt if you could find a better one. It's as if it was designed in a cockpit - probably was. Intuitive, easy to read on a tablet down at your lap level (far easier than the "name brand" ones). It has everything I need for flight planning and flying. Great for ADS-B. Great supplement for my G1000.
Doesn't work in Canada
Works great. Best GPS I have used. I
Fast, easy, use it all the time in the plane. Great way to be paperless. And great price.
Feel stupid for neglecting this app. I thought that since the interface font etc looked like my commodore Amiga it wasn't worth the time. Stupidly mistaken. This app is excellent, intuitive, full of features. So sorry for ignoring it for so long. Run perfect on my phone and tablet.
I think it's the best aviation app on android, hands down!!!
Only useful for USA pilots. no Canada maps, does not clearly state before download.
User friendly
This feature rich app is pretty easy to get familiar with. A lot of thought seems to go into ergonomics. Likes include flight planning especially addition of charts into plan. Missing are Synthetic vision, Offline satellite view along a path(for night flight safety), Scribble on maps. Metar/taf works well enough. Love all of the flight features including over lays and geo referenced charts and diagrams AND instruments screen. The obstruction warnings work great. App is actively maintained. LG5. Check out their hardware too!
I really love this app! Very helpful and gives great data. I especially love the altitude planning and flight planning features. I have a few additional features which could be helpful to me at least: Audible traffic alerts Audible terrain alerts Enhanced and simplified UI Thanks for the great app!
Way better than anything else on android for the value. I am very impressed. Way better than avare
Long time customer, I rely on it all the time
This is a great app. I love it. The only thing missing now is synthetic vision which would make the app perfect. Very easy to use during flight.
With the latest update (01/24/2017) this app pulls way out in front of everything else for the Android platform. Now you can load an instrument procedure as part of your flight plan so you can monitor an approach flown with steam gauges. This is great for situational awareness. The app has been very stable on my Android tablet which is important. I also have the iFly 740 which shares flight plan updates back and forth with the tablet making flight planning much easier. I was skeptical, but now I am a believer. I am going stick with this system and give up my subscription to other apps.
1/25/2017: New version has some very important feature enhancements. After 9 months since previous update, I was hoping for a waypoint shareing method. 12/18/2016: Updates and features are not happening fast enough. Although still the best app on Android and am gladly paying for multiple subscriptions. OLD: Disappointed that development is not focused on features to catch up with state of the art competition.
Great app. But it needs a full blown weather briefing section. I need this much more than I need the IFR capability.
Awesome app. I use it on cellphone and tab. Works great on both!
Best aviation app for Android
I've owned and used the iFly 700 GPS. I love how improved, from the old hardware version, this interface is on my OnePlus One. This is a superior GPS for aviation. Usability is far better then Foreflight, Avare, FltplanGo, and the rest. However, this needs one missing feature: the ability to insert airways when planning an IFR flight plan. Do this and you'll have a 5 star perfect product. Kudos to Adventure Pilot! I plan to buy the subscription, when I hope you get airways into the the app. BIG ISSUE is the super slow data downloads; I have a 66Mbps broadband, but iFlyGPS must be on compuserve! C'MON! Grrrrrr....
Can be fairly difficult to grasp alerts and how to silence. Otherwise, with features like altitude planning it's quite a bit more capable than pretty much all other Android options.
After my Nexus 5x was updated to Nougat the buttons on the app disappeared behind pop-ups and their touch points moved. Other users have commented on this as well. This is a paid application that can be used to meet the legal requirements for carrying electronic charts. There is no excuse for this.
Works excellently when im flying my G6
Great Aviation moving map. ONLY THING MISSING IS NOTAMS!
Been using it for a bit over one year. So much better than the convoluted Garmin Pilot. But the best feature is their absolutely fantastic and helpful customer and tech support. Try to get Garmin on the phone!!
Thought I'd get the full 30 days to evaluate before I buy. This was just a waste of my time & resources!
I paid for an VFR/IFR subscription , but The ADS-B weather does not work well with the Stratux box. It keep loosing connection and you don't get any updates on traffic or weather. After a while It does not display anymore the nexrad coverage weather downloaded before the flight from the internet. Also repetitive messages and warnings that you just dismissed, keep appearing again and again. very annoying. It needs an update really soon.
Completely comprehensive and still simple. Easy to use and read in the cockpit. Ideal for my in flight ADS-B needs.
I am impressed by the quality and user friendly interface. I use it in every flight. Love it.
Best Overall for Android
Easy to use
Updated Apr 2016 - With the winds aloft planning I would rate this 6 stars if I could. Updated I am an orphan from FlightPro - In my evaluations I decided to go to FlightPro as the user interface was a bit more slick and I did not need the additional features of this app however when FlightPro went dark this was my second choice and after 3 days use in real world cross country flying I am getting more and more impressed. There are a few annoying things - probably turbulance based but basically you point on a part of a chart and you immediately get the information you need. This app is not totally intuitive and does need you to sit down and go study it. However if you spend the effort it pays dividends. The latest update goes from good to superb - all you will ever need in flight.
The latest update is awesome. Have had this app for a few years now. The winds aloft and flight optimization is so cool! Can't wait to plan my next x country flight!
I am in my 4th year and it just gets better. Now that I am using ads-b I see targets and get audio warnings. The ifly staff is very responsive to my inputs.
The best navigation app on the market.
Best user interface I've seen on an EFB. I fly a lot of IFR and this aviation app is the pick of the litter for preflight planning, inflight navigation, and approaches.
Update: November 27, 2015. It's apparent that you do not listen to the aviators north of USA. You have NO flight data for us "Frozen Canadians"....... We must say you're missing out on a large market. We will not be back a 3rd time just to be disappointed. You SUCK!
Disappointed that development is not focused on features to catch up with state of the art competition.
Works great on cross-country and local flights. Best Flight App for Tablets.
