Tragovima madonera

"Tragovima madonera" naziv je izložbe ikona autora Borisa Grkovića. Na njima su predstavljeni motivi hrvatskog katoličkog nasljeđa između 12 i 16 stoljeća. Različita stilska razdoblja i bogat izričaj brojnih umjetničkih radionica toga doba slikovito svjedoče o važnosti jadranskog područja kao ključnog čvorišta kulture.
Izložene ikone potječu iz crkava i hramova gradova jadranske obale. Glavni motivi su Marija i Isus - Madona i dijete.
Budući da su ikone različitih razina očuvanosti i pristupačnosti, umjetnikov glavni cilj je predstaviti ih u punom sjaju i originalnoj ljepoti, korištenjem tehnika starih majstora i poštivanjem strogih pravila izrade ikona.

"Following the Madonners" is the title of the exhibition of icons painted by Boris Grković. It represents artistic Croatian Catholic heritage of the period from 12th to 16th century. Various stylistic periods and rich expression of numerous art workshops of this period vividly testify the importance of the Adriatic area as a nodal place of culture.

The exhibited icons originate from churches and shrines of towns at Croatian Adriatic coastline. The main motifs are Mary and Jesus – Madonna and the Child.

Since icons are characterized by the varying degree of preservation and accessibility, the artist's main purpose is to present them in all their glory and original beauty, using old masters' techniques and obeying strict rules of icon writing.
