Got this to help kids and me. IOS version is more feature rich but this is still good. Noticed IOS version has Cantonese voices as well but not on android

It looks that the application has a high potential but its a struggle to find out how it works. For example, is it possible to search a word by writing it? If not, what is the write option (pen icon) for? A small guide would be more than welcome.

This once awesome and useful app has morphed into a poorly designed and polluted (with ads) one . It's developers seem to have become either indifferent or brain dead . Our relationship is over. I deleted it. I hate it. 我讨厌它

UI a little messy, otherwise it's functional and serves its purpose

The stroke display is still a small corner of the screen (on a Nexus and on an HTC phone). It could be useful for displaying strokes offline, but the stroke order is not always correct, and needs to be checked against a written source from Taiwan's Ministry for Education. For some time it has not recognised previous payment on the same device (after a database update), and the instructions for a fix don't work. The developer does not test on Android. No longer usable: regrettably, deleted.

I'm using Samsung Galaxy tab, has been using this app for a few years. The recent update caused layout problem. The character is now very small, all interface are crowded together at the left hand side, difficult to read compared to previous version.

this app has potential.The interface is not very good (not a native Android app, some outdated java library half-heartedly ported over), but it has some nice features, and can be used offline. be aware that if you get a new phone, you have to pay again. This company definitely does not understand Android.

Cant download the datebase both phone and linked site too. Poor...

Non transferable license

Beautiful UI, bad UX! Features have potential but not optimized for learning; no immediate feedback in quiz, no rating when writing. Slow install.

FC on N1 when unzipping data file.

Exactly the kind of program I need. unfortunately it Force Closes on my Hero. 5 stars for concept 1 stars for actual app.

Does what it says (except that it's actually a trial and not a full app). Interface is definitely useable but not obvious.

Works great on my nexus one. 4 stars because the interface isn't very intuitive. I love the apparently though.

Why I HV to pay something I already paid.

Great app and there's not many like it out there. Only thing I wished it had was a tts feature for Mandarin and Cantonese.

Wanted to refresh my Mandarin class. Updated over wifi finally. Time's passing on hidden 30day trial. Unhappy wasn't told up front, now rushing trial.

Great! Need to add voice/sound to help with pronounciation.

Best chinese learning software for android until "pleco dictionary" creates android version early next year.

Need to put paid version in the market. After 30 days need to go to their site to buy key. Will buy when can do through market.

I would definitely pay for a full version with improved UI! Concept is solid though.

The interface is awkward but it does the job. Seems to be the only option on android for stroke orders.

This program is great for learning characters both simplified and traditional. Pairs great with the Google Pinyin IME for finding a character. So far I have not come across a character that it does not know. To use this program, you just need to tap the top left square, and enter the character you want to practice in pinyin, and then it will play an animation of the stroke order as may times as you need to see it. There is even a test mode to practice your strokes, it is easy to change between viewing the character or hiding it so that you can really practice how it looks without seeing the end result. The application will also let you switch to the simplified or traditional version easily if it exists. I have the licence which is only 7 USD. There seems to be a lot of comments saying how outrageous this single licence is, as if people changed phones on a weekly basis. I would like to compare this with the 'Chinese in a flash' flashcard sets I own. I own both volumes which cost around 20 USD each. They show the traditional characters but not the stroke order for them. Thank you EON for this program!

The app is quite good. However I won't pay for it as the license is for 1 phone. You have to buy another license anytime you change your phone. The wifi requirement to download is also a drawback. I could download the zip file from the web page but this extra step is really inconvenient when I have unlimited data plan.

my phone broke, got a new one and reinstalled estroke, my license is being rejected. repeatedly attempted to contact customer service and they don't respond.

Cantonese pronunciation in jyutping but no Yale. Interface is not easy to use.

You cant move to another device.. heck, you can even reinstall on the same device if your phone is went back for a repair!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 license per 1 android device id

Program can't download needed db via phone's data connection - insists on WiFi. Stupid!

Seems to have a lot of potential with its huge database. The design is directly copied from iPhone so back-button doesn't act like it should - everytime I hit it the app closes instead of going back! Redesign needed! Also it has buttons up in the top left corner like iPhone apps - why would anyone put a button up there - hard to reach unless you're holding the phone up side down. It would also be nice if you added recordings of the characters. Right now only of the strokes.
