My Diet Journal replaces your paper diet journal. The app was designed for meal replacement diets like Medifast or Jenny Craig, but can be used whenever you want to keep track of what and when you eat, drink, and any supplements you take. Keep your exercise log as well as any statistics you want to track, such as your weight, BMI, Percent Body Fat, or blood pressure. Graph the actual values and the overall and recent trend lines to see when you'll reach your goals. Keep your inventory of consumables in the app and as you use them, the count will be adjusted so you'll know what to buy on your next shopping trip.

Features

Set minimum and maximum hours between meals and how many meals a day you are to eat. The "Meals" button on the main menu shows you when it's too early (red), late (yellow) or in your prime dining time (green).
Use the Alerts option to remind you when it's time to have your next meal. After breakfast, plan every meal time for the rest of the day, all falling within your set constraints.
Keep track of all your meal replacement and supplements in the "Inventory" and as you use them, the counts will go down so you know when it's time to buy more.
Easily add new stock to your inventory by scanning the package's bar code.
Dailies track your water, supplements and anything else you want to keep a count of every day. These items are also subtracted from your inventory (if you're tracking that item in your inventory).
Vitals track your weight, measurements, blood pressure - anything you want to track.
Keep your exercise log. Every new day shows all the exercises you track and your last recorded value. These values are whatever you choose: Laps, reps, minutes, etc.
Graph every vital you track.
Graphs include overall trends, showing change per month and week and "recent" trends, showing change per month and week, but only using your latest entries. Zoom in to see only the last month's results.
Share graphs showing your progress with your weight loss counselor via e-mail or with your friends on Facebook -- you choose.
Set goals for any vital and the graph feature will show you your estimated date of reaching your goals using the overall and recent trend data.
View everything entered for the day on one "Journal Entry" page.
Share your Journal Entry Pages with whomever you choose.
Back up your data to SD Card for safe keeping or if you get a new phone. The file can be easily copied to a new phone or tablet and imported into the app running on that device. Optionally "share" the database out and e-mail it to yourself for safe keeping externally.

You can use every feature (I do!) or just pick and choose.

I love this app. I am on the Medifast diet and can list all of my meals in inventory. It then subtracts from my inventory with every meal entry and I always know how many meals I have left. I also like the graph that tells me when I should hit my goal weight. The only issue I have is the notification. It does not vibrate or chime regardless of my settings. Love it though!

I really like this so far... I've been looking for an app that let's me record my food manually and without counting calories yet it has an alarm to set the time to eat... Would give it 5 but just started using it today

I didn't want a calorie tracker I just wanted an easy way to log meals and exercise. This is a great app for free form quick entries. Bonus is the daily vitamin/water tracking and vitals. I love the journal summary.

Loved the app. But is it possible to get the information in csv or pdf or txt file for the given date range. ie) currently under Journal it is showing for the particular day with summary of all the activity. Similarly can i get it for the date range. ie) Export the information datewise journal to csv/pdf/txt to show doctor for analyse purpose. Thanks

This is the first time I've liked an app enough to write about it and while I do share the same last name as the author, I swear I do not know him. I use this to track my food intake, meds, exercise and make notes throughout the day. I've tried a lot of other apps like this and this is, by far, the most intuitive and functional. It is quick and easy to make entries and has a nice comprehensive view to show your doctor or trainer. Very cool app!

I like this app. Other apps and websites require whatever you log to already be in their database so if you make your own recipe you have to put it in there and hope the nutrition turns out right. I'm not tracking calories, I just want to track what I eat so this is great. Love the journal that summarizes everything for that day! I also like to keep track of my meds and vitamins. I would like to be able to record my blood pressure in the vitals section. I also don't understand the colors for the meals.

I would like easier way to record exercise or vitamin intake. the app makes you put it in as weird units. Also the weight graph is confusing. Why doesn't it just show the numbers and dates you input? What is the second line in the graph? Otherwise I like the diary and journal part. It's simple to enter

Quite simple to use, except the vitals part, if you make an error at the beginning a delete option would be better than having to go online to figure out what to do. Actually all areas would benefit with delete and a little more explanation...like how to set a goal etc. I did get there in the end but less computer savvy would not have.

Good app for tracking my day. But I don't use the meal reminder and I keep getting locked into the "eat now/set new reminder/snooze" screen. No way to get to any other screen till I hit the 'eat now' button. I'd give this app 4 stars but this is bringing it down to 2. It's so frustrating trying to use the other portions of the app when its keeping me on the 'eat now' screen till I actually enter something. If I can't get past this, I'm gonna uninstall it and find something else.

Nice and simple food diary. Only problem is that the foods in my inventory are not displaying in the meals section. I just get a white screen and if I select it then I get the item but can't view the individual items. Thanks for the update they are in inventory and a white box appears as I type but no words are showing, if I click on the white box it selects an item but I can't tell which item I am selecting!

I just started keeping track of my eating habits and this app is so easy to use its far less bother than paper and pen journaling.
