I really love the directions and the animations on this app. But it could be a bit better, if there were community recipes, or a way for me to add my own steps.recipes to a method, or share reviews and notes about a recipe. I looked at the chemex recipes, and none of them match what you'd find online. For example, you should use 5-7 tablespoons for 6 cups of 8oz coffee using the chemex method. But all of the recipes found in the app for chemex calls for 2 tablespoons of coffee for 5 cups of coffee of 3.4 oz. Who came up with those numbers?? Was it from a trusted source? Who knows? If the numbers were matched up better, I'd be using this app a bit more. I kinda use the app for making other stuff, but again, I need better confirmation with the recipes. I know the recipes and the functionality of the app are two different things, but its the reason why I got the app to begin with.

Wow, this app is amazing, got to say it is really good! Does everything it claims to do and it runs flawlessly on my phone. It is also beautiful. It has helped me to make some really nice coffee. If you like third wave style coffee, this app is for you. Things that would make this app even more awesome though are: 1 a visual actual size diagram of what grind size the recipe would like. As I know what I believe a medium to be but how can I be sure that is what the author believes it to be. 2 cold brew recipes 3 changing the timer so that it counts down millilitres you should be pouring rather than seconds. And 4 a suggestion of possible drinks you could make with that coffee you just brewed. Love this app.

Really great app but has a few limits 1) only a few brewing styles (no kalita or siphon as others mentioned) with presets 2) no way to add and save your own custom recipes or edit the presets (seems to be coming soon) 3) be nice to add settings for grinders that use numbers so you can keep track of your settings instead of just fine-med-coarse 4) lacks custom cup sizes as stated before. With those changes this app would help out a lot more peeps. Great for beginners though.

As currently written, the app limits cup size to 300 ml, about 10 ounces. My cup size is more like 360 ml and most recipes outside this app specify larger cup sizes as well. I contacted the developer through the app and they did reply, but they only suggested that I increase the cup size to 350 ml, which the app does not allow. This app should allow setting custom cup sizes. It doesn't. It only lets you change cup size within a limited range. For these reasons I rated the app 3 stars.

This app is awesome! It has a built in ratio calculator that automatically adjust to your preferred serving size, a built in timer for steps that requires, and even a scoring system for your coffee. The design is easy and beautiful too. I would've easily give it 5 stars if it had a custom recipe that we can put ourselves.

App is well put together but needs a few tweaks. 1. Please allow for metric units. I'm from the US and so typically use units like ounces but grams and millileters are much more practical for this application. 2. Allowing for custom recipes as others have mentioned. More brew methods would be nice but not a huge deal for me since I only use a classic French Press and an espro 3. Allow for the cup size to be adjusted so I can make different size batches without having to do all the math myself

Good little app. Could do with a little more detail on the Aeropress recipes (filter type, line you fill your water to, number of scoops of coffee) because I don't feel like working to a specific gram or millilitre figure.

Fantastic, everything you need is here. It takes step by step, times the process, allows you to keep a record of brews with comments on each one and keeps statistics on brew methods and coffee quantity used.

App is nice but why can't I just make my own recipe? I like the fact that I can peek at the next steps, I think it's important

Really good and helpful. Only needs a way to record and sort by coffee bean and roast. A minor tweak would be for sentences and paragraphs to automatically begin with upper case letters.

It's a great app for beginners, although it lacks a moka and the syphon methods. Overall design is great, but it would be more appealing if the background of app would blend with animations

awesome app superb! please add other brewing methods like mokapot Kalita wave, phin filter ETC. just to make it a complete awesome coffee app.

HOLY CRAP. This app is superbly designed. IT'S GOT SWIPE-THROUGH INSTRUCTIONS AND BUILT-IN TIMERS FOR EVERY RECIPE. I am a huuuge nerd, especially when it comes to coffee. I try to measure everything down to the smallest minutia, so that when I get a brew I love, I can easily reproduce it. The inclusion of recommended temperatures, brew times, grinds, press methods, and the easily-used walk through some make this an app after my own heart. I wish there was an app like this for cooking! Five stars!

Strange, the app won't close. Would be great if I could add my own recipe, it seems to me that all the building blocks are already in place!

App worked for me, but wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I'll keep it and use it, anyways. Decent recipe, but I was looking for a bit more of an app for chemex centered around a scale and a timer. More of something that starts with measure and grind 24g of beans. (next) bring water to boil. (Next) Rinse chemex and filter. Allow water to come off boil to ~ 90c. (Next) place coffee in filter and tare. (next). Pour water to 70g and bloom 30 seconds (countdown timer &beep) Pour water slowly in even circular pattern to 300g. (timer +beep). Add water in even circular pattern to 600g (timer + beep). Add remaining water (timer+beep). Remove filter & enjoy. Could include tips that if coffee is still dripping at end grind is too fine, or if finished too soon is too coarse.

Very nice! Simple but beautiful. Only thing I miss, is that on the "make coffee" phase the full details would be visible (amount, temperature, grind etc.).
