Run & Bike Route Planner is a very simple app that allows you to plot route as a set of points and get the total distance of the route (as well as the distance up to each waypoint) back out. This can be especially useful for Running, Cycling, Mountain biking, Walking and other distance based activities.
Initially it will zoom to your location. Once this is complete, scroll around the map, and press once, or long press on a location to add a marker. Then add the markers to follow your proposed route (usually looping back to the start marker somehow). The total distance of the route will be plotted at the bottom of the screen.
For extra information, click any of the markers to view the distance up to that point.Additionally, all the gestures available in google maps are also available.
Note: elevation is not currently taken into account, this may be added in a future release.

Looked all through the app store for something like this. Very smooth and indicating the distance at each mark is nice. Would love a saving feature to make multiple tracks and a way to move pre-set markers in one of the next updates though! Otherwise great app.

Does a decent job of what I want. Would be nice to be able to drag and drop flag points make it easier to change the route easily. Also being able to save and open routes definitely would get this a higber rating. Maybe adding a redo button for when one accidentally undos too much unintendedly. Default to the measurement system of the country would be nice as well. For example, the three countries, such as the US, that use miles have the default set to miles for displayed distance units. Found a bug too.

Displays distance between point overlays over Google map with no interactivity with said map. To follow a road you need to enter points at every turn, and several around curves.

Very useful if like me you just want to be able trace out a routes mileage. However being able to save them would have got the extra star. And not entirely sure what the 'lock' key is for, doesn't seem to do anything?! Some guidance please fellow users?! However, still useful. Thanks

Works as described, but it is missing several features that would be nice. The pins are gigantic, which makes it hard to do a path with many turns, also there is no way to save the route. It would be nice to make pins invisible to look at the final route.

It doesn't respond easily to taps when plotting the route and you can't zoom by expanding the screen, you can't type in a starting point so I had to find my location in the UK by zooming in on what started as a world map! Far too basic for what I was looking for. Could do with more technology to enhance its usability.

No search feature for addresses or nearby areas. Trying to plan a run route at my mother - in - laws house who is not in the same city and no ability to search her address.
