Grocery Shopping List for Android
I looked at this app mostly for its syncing and geoloaction. The first seems to work, but he second does nothing. It won't open the map (or it does for 1/2 a second and it closes) and when i chose 'report a problem' it came up with an error. Even sent an email, but never got a reply. Good UI etc but it seems rather buggy for the small amount of use I gave it. Happy to change this when these get fixed
Hi. You can only add one location to the store. As we travel from home to work we could pass a few different stores that are in the same chain. We should be able to add more than one location. You should be able to add an estimated time a product will last so you get reminders the week before
My shared lists suddenly were not available to the others, can't share lists amymore and some lists disappeared as well. Not very convenient!
Only one I ever use. But my "checked" lists get pretty long, and I really wish I could sort them.
Very counter-intuitive
WHAT IS IT with the Swiss? Elegant, straight forward and totally useful. Love it, love it, love it.
Love it..
Syncing works beautifully, unlike several other lists I've tried. This alone makes Capitan stand out, and has become my daily driver. Great job! Suggested improvements: 1. Need to add/edit categories. The defined ones don't map well to my store. 2. Need to be able to change categories on pre-defined foods - many don't match where they are in my store. 3. Need to edit history to remove misspelled or one-time items.
Loved this app as it appeared to show real promise. However the Android Wear app is pretty much useless and the app itself appears to be abandoned, so I guess sync will stop working soon. No updates for months and they've stopped responding to emails. A shame.
It's not as intuitive as I thought... I entered cheddar cheese, and it was categorized as "other". Also, you couldn't add prices!
I thought that I was going to loooove this app. I had been looking for such an app that would also sync with AndroidWear and that would be cross device and cross platform (my wife uses an iPhone). The app is beautiful but bug ridden (items do not sync properly with watch), lacks essential functions (like adding own category) and, worst of all, does not provide customer support. Sorry guys, I really really tried ("Jesica" or whomever reads your email should know).
Is much less user friendly after the update
This app UI is horrendous and not user friendly at all. Everything about it was not good at all...
Shopping List
Great list maker, but I need a grocery or list for calculator with it so I can determine if I am in budget or not.
At least from the app, there appears to be no way to organize it for my grocery store, I'm unable to change categories or add, there seems to be no way to transfer items, nor can you record prices. In short, it forces you to only dip in their rigid structure.
A hopeless app that has no real purpose. Should be foolish enough to use this app and then choose not to use it or, indeed, delete it, you will be contacted by its makers. Please bear in mind that there is no way to prevent the makers of this app spamming you. If I could give these pathetic fools zero stars, i would.AVOID
Cons: Should check off only in box, not in item. Delete should have confirmation. Edit should allow name. Add, edit categories. [For Android]
No more slips of paper for grocery lists. Checking an item off the list is good, especially when shopping multiple stores. Really like being able to uncheck an item when creating a new list so I don't have to retype an item repeatedly.
Has great potential but missing a lot of necessary features such as: * Quantity / Weight * Price * Should be able to set the correct Category/add new one when appears in Other * Should be able to set the Store/location area for a list so not getting notifications for every grocery store * ability to Ping member/s of list to remind them It also sends too many notifications when creating a list if adding multiple items. I find this to be very irritating. With these additions/improvements It would be a must have app!
Great list maker, but I need a grocery or list for calculator with it so I can determine if I am in budget or not.
I get the feeling this app was made by men that don't do the grocery shopping. Like, cat litter is under household and not pets. Cream and butter do not go under dairy. Some items you can change their category and others not. To me Produce is fruits and veggies, yet they have it as 3 separate entities. Also there is no world isle. Wine goes under other..it just goes on and on. Nice idea if it worked. I have yet to figure out how to change categories to match the order of aisles in your store.
Amazing app. I'm using it in Brazil. Congratulations! Go ahead...
Drains battery even with near store notifications off.
Consumes quite a bit of battery
Why does the list screen show items under the list name that are crossed off?
Crashes when opening list. Good idea though. Needs work.
Crashes when going into List.
It seems like a great idea. I love being able to share a grocery list with my wife. But I don't need a notification every time she adds an item to the list. Let me decide which notifications to get. It doesn't seem to have affected battery life, but I blocked it from using position info. It is better since recent updates, but I still get notifications every time my wife adds an item to the list. Dev has been very responsive.
Syncing works beautifully, unlike several other lists I've tried. This alone makes Capitan stand out, and has become my daily driver. Great job! Suggested improvements: Wishing I could edit product history to remove 1-time items or misspellings from the choose item list. Notifications need a LOT of improvement, and mostly, to be toned down - I've blocked them in the app manager for now. We need options to tune which notifications are allowed, and be able to change the piercing default tone. Love th
I'd like to be able to move all items between categories, not just the items I've added to the database. Corn is only under canned, but I buy it fresh on the cob. Chorizo and ham are listed under dairy and eggs, as is "cheese", but if I specify which cheese it goes into the cheese category. I'd also like to be able to create my own categories like "bulk" and maybe "farmers market".
No checkmark. It deletes the item when touched rather than checking it off.
Had a couple of issues that were quickly addressed by the dev. Works as expected now. Nice organization, beautiful design. Looking forward to tablet compatibility.
*UPDATE* The developers responded by fixing the high GPS usage, so the app is no longer a battery hog. Good job! My next missing feature is the ability to edit the shopping list through on my desktop - would be nice to have a web interface in addition to the mobile app. *Initial review* This app is at the top of the list of battery consuming apps on my phone. The interface is lovely, thought, would be a real shame if the battery consumption is not fixed soon.
But why the lack of diversity with the avatars? Only white people are using this?
Update: GPS issue no longer occurring. Thanks for the quick fix on that. The App is still very young and lacks a lot of features, but development is moving quickly so I have high expectations.
I do miss the option of disabling the notifications that I'm near a shop, and some control over which shops would be great as well. Right now I get notified for every dairy I walk by, rather annoying. Also the battery drain seems rather large for what is essentially a shopping list app.
Works better on iOS. Doesn't let me.change my number and email. Doesn't let me choose contacts with Facebook
The app has a great UI but is using location constantly which completely drained my battery.

Had this app for iPhone and it was amazing. Enter an item and it was automatically categorized. Android version puts everything in the "other" category which completely defeats the point of this app. I've patiently waited for updates but no go. I'm sorry devs- it's a deal breaker until fixed.
