Awesome On Off - Smart Screen

Finally an app of this kind that does what it says it will do. Proximity sensor is hit and miss but the screen off shortcut is a Godsend. Screen on tilt works flawlessly. Galaxy Reverb has only power button to wake the screen and after having it less than three months the button is sticking causing reboot loops and intense frustration at an otherwise great phone. Awesome is right on for a name! Thanks so much!

Sadly, this app doesn't work on my phone but that doesn't mean i'll give it a low rating. The app seems good and it is a good idea. Hopefully,if I get a new phone I will be able to get it. :) Raising my rating back up, a little, as it finally let me uninstall...

Works perfectly on droid turbo 2 .Ive used almost every other screen on app . was using gravity screen but it would stop working all the time. These guys obviously did their research and fixed everything that was wrong with the other apps of this kind . this is my first review and the only reason I'm posting this is because these guys did such a great job. Just master the hand fling and your set .

This app hardly ever works I have to re open it because it closes itself. And they are constantly asking for you to rate them and buy the full version. VERY annoying.

This app works as claimed. However, on my device, with Battery Saving Mode on, the battery consumption is ridiculously excessive - as high as 30%! An email to the developer received no response. I'll give it another day or two, otherwise it's getting uninstalled.

Its a great app for those who want to press unlock button repeatedly. This app will automatically opens the screen for u. I jst hav complain abt this app it stops working in between and prompts a "force close" msg. So plz fix this bug as soon as earlier its a request. 2stars are reserved for that bug.

I was extremely skeptical about this app because the past 4 I tried didn't work, not even the shake ones. This one is awesome! The search is over! Lol all I gotta do it pick it up and it wakes!!! ZTE 4.1 (jelly bean)

I hate this app#no affence, does it even work on LG phones? Cause it won't let me uninstall it. Only the awesome on works too not the awesome off.

I would recommend an option to make it less sensitive for those on the go. I don't want to totally pause the app because when I'm on the go and would sometimes want a quick glance at the time using your awesome app. For the meantime I'd rather use my hard-to-press power button than a super sensitive app. Please keep us updated if there are any new stuff, thanks!

The app works quite well and it seems to be very helpful in allowing my phone awake by not using hard button. But it's the most power consuming app in my phone and make it run out of battery too soon. Regretly i have to uninstall it.

at other times it's excruciatingly annoying. On Nexus5 , half the time Ultimate OFF becomes sluggishly unresponsive. Especially if the screen's been On for a while. Please fix it.

This is the only app I have found that turns on the screen when you pick up the phone and move it almost vertical, which is excellent. But every time I try and pay for it it declines my payment! Google say it is not me or them, so I guess the developer is responsible. No reply from emails so I am trying to contact the developer via this review.

I gave 3 stars olny because when i used screen on function then screen didn't on immidiately but first a blank black screen appeard then show me phone's screen. That's a bad impression.

A life savior. It solved my problem of not working power button. I hope it doesn't use so much battery power. By the way, thank you for such good program.

I see a lot recent reviews that aren't so great but so far I can't come up with a single weak point in the application. Every time I think "I wish it could do this....." I look in the settings and low and behold it can! try it! works flawlessly on my Samsung Stratosphere. I used a mount on my motorcycle that blocks access to the power button so i cant control my music, this fixes that. Awesome job Dev!

I love the LG G3 double tap but have an GS5. I hate the "on" solution in this app. Walking around shouldn't wake the phone. The "off" gesture is perfect! OTOH the "Tap Tap Tap" app turns the screen "on" with the same gesture but fails in the "off" side. I am currently using both apps, BUT why have two apps that do what one should accomplish? I will be watching memory usage & battery drain to decide which app to use. 3 stars because it is half right, 5 stars when improved! .

The program is good for freeware. But this is what I have found; The tilt/sensitivity sometimes gets annoying and unresponsive. Sometimes you're left with a dead screen. The app also does not work well if used consistently and turns on and off alot. Not recommended for continual use.

My lock button stopped working so I had to plug my phone in everytime I wanted to wake my screen up. Not anymore. This app made my phone usable on a day-to-day basis. Thank you soooo much :-)

Cannot uninstall. It is deactivated. UPDATE: Running Fast Reboot app allows uninstall. The concept is great, but the proximity locking doesn't work. I block the sensor and the phone vibrates but doesn't lock.

Probably one of the most needed apps. My only concern is how to prevent it from waking the phone up while in the pocket during walking, siting down and standing up. For that reason I installed the widget/icon to manually turn it on only when am at my desk, and then off when I walk. Great development work! EDITED: although it reports only about 3% battery use, the Android OS skyrocketed (due to almost permanent wakelocks) almost halving my battery life, even when the app is in the battery save and the notification off mode. For that reason I had to uninstall it.

The idea is good... used it but the tilt too sensitive no matter wat you put on the sensitivity.... i tried put it on 80 and most of the time it triggers without even recaching 80.... i turn off the awesomeon but still it turns on.... oh well will see whats the next update will be..

3 stars for effort and a great idea! I wanted to try this on my tablet because I thought it would be more practical. However, the app doesn't work right: 1) to wake, it only reads tilts from landscape mode. This means that if you are holding the tablet in portrait, you actually have to tilt it left/right to wake. It may not be too big a deal, but it would be nice if it based the tilt direction off of previous orientation before sleeping (or at least an option to). 2) the sensor swipe to turn off doesn't work... at all. I've tried everything from waving my hand an inch over the sensor to actually dragging my hand across it. Nothing works. Great idea, but not for my tablet (Acer A500) and I personally don't see much use for it on my phone (SGS2).

Really love this app. I am using samsung galaxy J2 phone. But the only problem i am having is that this app automatically got force stop. I have to open settings again n again to activate it. It runs smoothly for sumtym but get stopped automatically aftr few minutes. Please fix this bug. Dont want to uninstall this..

The wake part works the lock part doesn't, I could feel a vibe but that doesn't do anything.

When I turn the screen off then put the phone in my pocket, it turns back on again because it's reached the maximum 90 degrees rotation for turning the screen on, it needs a flip or 180 degree option. Put my phone in my pocket upside down and no problems.

When I lift my handset first it shows me the homescreen and then after a blink it will open lock screen. This does not happen with other similar app Auto Screen On. Pls fix the bug. Thanks

I left phone in car for six hours and when I came back it was on and very very hot. Proximity sensor dead now. Not sure what happened.

I would probably give 5 stars, but the bypassing the stock lockscreen does not work (Samsung Galaxy S5). The app Gravity Screen is able to bypass the stock lockscreen somehow. Also, putting the word "Awesome" in every menu setting does not actually make this app more awesome, it only makes it more tedious to read the settings. The popup can get annoying quickly.

Excellent app....the only drawback is it drains the battery a bit...but otherwise its really awesome....good work....

Even though I dont activate battery saving the app goes to deep sleep and does not work and this happens a lot. Please do something about it. Otherwise the app really is awesome.

After using this app for few months, first the option from drop down screen is removed to show its working n then it automatically stops n starts working without giving any message. I don't like to play Russian Roulette so I am uninstalling it now.

My phone doesnt wake up from a long sleep. It doesnt recognize any gesture. Also, when Im on a ride it vibrates more and more. Sigh.

The power button on my Droid 4 is a bit flaky and it won't work to turn the phone on. I can configure the settings so that the volume rocker button can wake the phone, but this doesn't work in deep sleep. This app works excellently. I haven't yet tried to unlock the phone from deep sleep, but am giving 5 starts in advance.

It'll really help if "Start/Stop" option will reside in the notifications area, and the "Screen Off" option moved to widgets... It is a little awkward to find 3 options of the same app in the app drawer.

I don't have proximity but turn off through icon and then turn on by use of accelerometer works very well. Only flaw is the huge battery drain.

Sometimes its cant unlocked after awhile idle. Im galaxy win user
