وفي عام 1369هـ، أمر الملك عبدالعزيز بتأسيس كلية الشريعة في مكة المكرمة لتصبح أولى المؤسسات التعليمية الجامعية قياماً في البلاد. وهي نواة جامعة أم القرى, والكلية الأم فيها. وتظل جامعة أم القرى، رغم حداثة قيامها في هيأتها وترسيمها الحالي, من أكثر الجامعات تميزا بحكم موقعها وعراقتها. In 1369, King Abdul Aziz ordered the establishment of the College of Sharia in Mecca to become the first university educational institutions in the country standing. It is the nucleus of the University of Umm Al-Qura, where the mother and college. Remain Umm Al Qura University, despite its newness in the current created by the demarcation of the most distinguished universities by virtue of its location and originality.
