Η εφαρμογή αυτή αναπτύχθηκε στα πλαίσια του δεύτερου μέρους της πτυχιακής μου εργασίας στο μάθημα Ανάπτυξη Λογισμικού για Δίκτυα και Τηλεπικοινωνίες του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.
Συγκεκριμένα το πρώτο μέρος αποτελείται από έναν web client που είναι υλοποιημένος με το Google Web Toolkit και έναν server που είναι υλοποιημένος σε Java και τρέχει σε Apache Tomcat, ο οποίος φιλοξενείται σε μια Virtual Machine που χορηγείται στα μέλη της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και ονομάζεται okeanos. Ο server έχει την δυνατότητα να αποθηκεύει πολυμέσα τοπικά χρησιμοποιώντας PostgreSQL βάση δεδομένων και το τοπικό σύστημα αρχείων ή να τα αποθηκεύει στο νέφος χρησιμοποιώντας το Google Cloud Datastore και το Google Drive.
Το δεύτερο μέρος αυτής της εργασίας είναι ένας Android client ο οποίος επικοινωνεί μέσω δικτύου με τον server και η επικοινωνία αυτή γίνεται με χρήση JSON.
Για λόγους ασφαλείας ο android client δεν έχει την δυνατότητα να κάνει εγγραφή νέου χρήστη ή υπενθύμιση κωδικού πρόσβασης του λογαριασμού του χρήστη, αλλά ανακατευθύνει κατάλληλα στην web εφαρμογή. This application was developed in the second part of my thesis work in class Software Development Networking and Telecommunications, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Specifically, the first part consists of a web client that is implemented with the Google Web Toolkit and a server that is implemented in Java and runs on Apache Tomcat, which is hosted on a Virtual Machine granted to members of the academic community of the University of Athens and called okeanos. The server has the ability to store media locally using PostgreSQL database and the local file system or to store in the cloud using Google Cloud Datastore and Google Drive.
The second part of this work is an Android client that communicates with the network server and the communication is done using JSON.
For security reasons the android client is not able to register new user or password reminder user's account, but redirects to appropriate web application.
